Funny Things DH says

I know most of us had moments this pregnancy where our DH has said something that made us laugh, shake our heads or just say "Oh DH".  Well last night mine had just a moment like that.  We were laying in bed reading before going to sleep like usual then out of no where DH says, 'I must be having sympathy pee for you this pregnancy.'  WHAT?!?!  He claims that his need to pee every five minutes must be sympathy pee because I go to the bathroom a lot.  I just had to shake my head and chuckle.  I guess sympathy pee isn't the worst he could be experiencing, although his reason for going to the bathroom so much is just the increased amount of water he is drinking and his healthier diet.

Anyone have any more funny things DH says?

Re: Funny Things DH says

  • Last night DH and I were talking about how I would prefer a vaginal delivery to a c-section. I have nothing against those that choose to have, or need to have c-sections and I would not oppose that should it be the way I need to go. I was simply stating that I prefer a vaginal delivery. He just doesn't understand why and my reasons I guess weren't good enough for him because he said, "Yeah, I guess it must be a woman thing". I'm like....yeah, because all the men that I know that have delivered babies haven't cared about the subject...haha, it made me laugh.

  • I second this, my husband has claimed sympathy peeing, sympathy cravings (even though I havent had any!) and sympathy fatigue. I would def say he has preggo brain though, he greeted me with "bless you" the other dag instead of a traditional hello / hi...
  • My DH hasn't really said anything that I can think of... but he does think we have all the time in the world before LO gets here. I keep telling him that LO could come early but DH insists that I'm due on the 25th... well yes babe, but that doesn't mean that is when LO will show up!

  • Oh, my. Where to begin?

I think the "coney boobs/National Geographic" comment is my fave. I was having a self-conscious moment about my changing boobs and he lovingly hugs me and says "They look beautiful. A little coney. Like National Geographic." Ahh, men. He also tried to slyly measure what 10 cms looks like while eyeing my lady parts one morning.

But recently, he came up with another gem. We were snuggling on the couch and MH gets up to get some ice cream (for him, not me...it kinda grosses me out now). I ended up lying on my back, which was a mistake because I could not get back up. MH watches me struggle for a few seconds, then lovingly says "Oh, my little turtle! You look so cute when you can't get up." Thanks, hunny.

  • Last night, DF & I were watching tv on the couch and he randomly says, "I'm uncomfortable and itchy...(pause)....and hot. I'm getting a pickle."
  • Getting out of the shower the other morning my DH looked at my, shook his head and said "You poor thing".  Thanks a lot, I had forgotten how weird my body has gotten lately but I appreciate being reminded.

  • Not preggo related, but I had a dream where one of my students was driving a golf cart that had been turned into a cat ambulance and had all kinds of sick, injured kitties in it. I told DH "and then Katie A pulled up in a golf cart cat ambulance", and DH said "yea I could see her doing that."

    that made me laugh.

I was leaving a voicemail for a patient once when I was newly pregnant and instead of saying " thank you and have a good evening", I said "in
Jesus' name we pray, amen!" lol
  • Since dreams were brought up! About 2 mornings ago my DH said he had a dream about me having our baby and it was weird! I jokingly said oh I suppose I gave birth to a litter of kittens! He looked at me and said nope you gave birth to a ton a baby aliens and they clawed there way out of you! Shocked I told him I was glad he had the crazy pregnancy dream for once instead of me! Poor DH he looked traumatized!
