WTF Post Office?

I was expecting a package to be delivered today. I check the tracking and it says Undeliverable. So , I call our PO,(we only have one) and they said the only person they have listed at this address is my SO, umm...I've lived here for over a year and have had many many packages sent to me. They said they have no record of me so they held onto it. They "added" me on the address and will be delivering it today but I am so confused. I NEEDZ my package!

    Why does it matter WHO it's addressed to? As long as the address is valid they should deliver it...

    Is your name on the mail box?  They won't deliver here in MA if the name isn't on the mailbox.

    That's what I was trying to figure out, just so bizarre. The guy at the PO didn't have any answers for me either. It just makes me wonder if there is any mail I should have received and didn't. I told him in the future if there is an issue to please leave a notice on my door. He said the carrier came to my house,didn't know what to do with the package and took it back. I was home all day yesterday until 6 pm. No one came to my door.

    @prncebride, we have community box type things in our subdivision. Not individual boxes,and yep...my name is taped inside the box. LIARS, I think the carrier screwed off and went to the bar.

    I have never had my name on a mailbox. I've filed a change of address when I moved from a townhouse to a home so anything I forgot to switch over wouldn't go there, but I just used the last name. That's so weird....
