I saw a psychic yesterday (maybe flameful in itself?) and she told me we would not be moving into a new house for 4 years so now I want to spend our house down payment on a new car. Lol. Sad.
We're going to the ILs now this weekend, since BD isn't taking DS. I can think of a million things I'd rather be doing - like stick needles in my eyes or walk barefoot on hot coals. I can't stand dealing with my BSC SIL and my obnoxious MIL.
I'm tired of being damned if I do and damned if I don't with SO's boys, per his parents/siblings. If I step up as an authority figure I am causing a problem because "you're not a mom", but if I don't, I hear "you can't be a pushover you need to enforce the rules". SO continually asks them to keep it to themselves but it doesn't stop and I'm drained.
Also, we leave for the beach in 9 days but mentally I'm already there. My work ethic has suffered greatly.
I love them dearly but cannot wait to ditch all my boys and go home over labor day weekend. It has been 8 years since I've seen family and friends in my old home town. I am going to have girl time with my old college friends, hike, drink beer, and basically do whatever the heck I feel like it. When my aunt paid for my airline ticket, DH says "wish I could go", but I'm so glad he can't. I need a break from all of them. This so reminds me of a post Illumne had awhile back. No kids, No DH, just ME ME ME.
DH is taking SDs camping this weekend so its just me and the baby. Im excited to have less mess in the house.
Last weekend I bought a sweater for DS for family photos. I accidentally left the tag in and now I'm thinking about returning it. It was $30!
We've had two consecutive weekends without SO's boys because they're on vacation with their mom, and I've really enjoyed the quiet calm of the house without them. They're great kids, but when all three boys are in the house it's loud banging and shouting and thumping every minute they're awake, it's stressful and exhausting some days. I look forward to the days when we only have one child in the house, or no children at all!

I can really relate to this. I haven't had a coffee table for YEARS because of the wrestling, running, jumping mad house that is the result of having young boys.
I have been going to work late on the mornings I don't do the 5 a.m. Crossfit class so that I can do a different class without DH knowing. And then on those days I turn around and do additional training at 8 pm. I've decided that I want to get into shape to start competing but haven't told DH. As far as he knows I'm just using this as a stress reliever. He knows I'm working out 5 days a week, but he's completely clueless that I'm doing additional training 3 days a week.
We have a party tomorrow at the Crossfit Box and it's been spread around that no one is to say anything to my DH about my training...
I really wish BM had a job so that the skids relationship with DH wasn't biased toward being an ATM based on the situation. If skids need/want something, BM is unable to assist (even if she did work, I am not sure this would be different - she is all about the blow out, mani pedi over food). I just wish that on days where skids are asking for money for things that are somewhat legit that I didn't feel the need to blast this song.
I cannot WAIT for school to start! I love all of these kids but they are with me 24/7. I want a break. I want ME time. I know that sounds very selfish. There is just not enough of me to go around for all of the fighting and tearing things up and the girls constantly re-arranging their drawers... I seriously have to go through all of their clothes once a week and re-organize. I'm not really sure why they do that. I will find sweaters that were hanging in the closet in their drawers and shorts on hangers in the closet. AHHH.
@andrea99, my SD1 was a million times worse 7-9 than she is now at 12. I don't know what that's all about.
OMG you mean there's hope?!
DD has been acting like the worst imaginable moody teenager for the past year and she's only 10!! Thank God this will eventually pass.
My soon to be 7yo SD has been acting out like this. Glad to know it will pass and I'm not the only one! The most random, smallest thing will tick her off
DH is leaving to teach a seminar out of state in the AM. I'm super stoked that a ton of ppl have been booking him lately to do that, but I'm REALLY dreading having all 3 kids alone for 2 days for the next 4 weekends... It's great extra money to pay bills, it's all great. I'm just super selfish thinking about how I'm going to rip my hair out w all 3 of them... Ugh.

Re: FFFC
Apparently I am a horrible person for "killing God's creatures" aka ANTS on purpose; as I was scolded by my SS this a.m.
so you'll join me on my one way ride to hell ?!!?
Where do they get this stuff? LOL

I would totally return it.
