That sucks! I do the same thing, not taking a diaper bag when we are just going somewhere close by. I know I am going to regret it one of these days. Are you guys doing solids? My poor DD had the worst constipation when we started solids about a month ago, but now it is better. However, the smell is enough to knock you on your ass. I don't know how such a small person can create a smell that horrible. Seriously.
We are going through this too. I always have to bring an extra change of clothes because DD loves to have poopsplosions why we are out, especially at panera for some reason. I think it definitely correlates with eating solids and we were also spoiled by the EBF poops. Solid poops smell terrible. I found that the oxyclean gel stick really helps get poop out of clothes without affecting their colors.
DD kinda did that to me this morning...I change her right before we leave the house, and then I go meet my Mom somewhere to get a quick breakfast and give her DD for the day. I don't bring a diaper bag with me b/c Mom has her own and she'll bring it if they're going anywhere but straight home after breakfast. This morning, about 1/2 way there, I heard her grunting and saw the face. I called Mom to see if she had a diaper bag, and of course, she'd forgotten it. We had to dash in the Walgreens near my office and buy some diapers (which we don't need b/c we have more size 2 diapers than we'll ever use) and wipes so I could clean her up lil stink bomb. She had poop EVERYWHERE but luckily the diaper held and so her clothes and carseat were safe.
Killian likes to get the worst of his over and done with first thing in the morning... so I always wake up to the best presents. Colors range from super dark grean (when I can get lots of spinach and/or kale into him) to reddish (when he eats beets) to more the puce green/yellow (when he doesn't want his solids at all). Consistancy can be squirty to chunky cottage cheese to "big boy poops".
I love it when I can discuss this topic with child-less friends, they just don't understand how you can totally have an hour long conversation about your kids' poops.
I'm just happy when Connor poops. For the 1st 6 months he was a very bad pooper. Once a week at best, now he goes every day and I do a poop dance, lol. WTF to the bolded? OH well, too lazy to change it.
Solid food poops are so horrible. We're doing baby led weaning and she doesn't eat solids everyday. Still mostly just breast milk. But when she does, holy crap! It's like a paste! Lol. She loves avocados and I cringe every time I give her some because I know in a day or two she's going to have guacamole butt. It's seriously like a paste! And banana and green beans are pretty bad too. Ohhhhhh the smell and the stringyness ugh

Yeah..we tried yogurt for the first time yesterday...Mom said it was so smelly they changed her clothes b/c they were afraid the smell had permeated the clothes even though the diaper contained the mess

Guac-butt!!!! Love it! Doesn't take avocados to make this appear in our house and Killian takes the cake for smell. Dead, rotting, swamp garbage roadkill with a hint of sickening-sweet

DD always has nice solid little nuggets. Like she is a bunny or something.
