Those of you who use or have used belly binders after your c-section, Where did you get them? Did your doctor write a prescription for one? TIA

Re: Belly Binder ?

  • Mine was actually put on me by the nurses in recovery before they took me up to my room.

  • My nurse brought me one, but I only wore it for a second. The bottom of it fell right at my incision. No go.

  • I bought mine online from Walmart for like $20.  It helped hold everything in and feel more comfortable.

  • Nurse put it on my while in recovery. It helped with getting out of the bed. I only needed it for about two weeks.

  • Currently in the hospital on bedrest- the nurses here told me that it is routine for them to give these to all c section patients here.  Some of the better binders are pricey, so I'd check with your doc before buying.

  • I had my csection on 5/14 and they put one on me in the hosp...I also wore it low on my hips..the pressure really helped and I used at home as well for about 7-10 days.

  • I didn't get one until the last day in the hospital when I told the nurse I really hurt myself getting out of bed. She then brought me one but I didn't get to try it until after discharge.

I think it was a size too small, though, because it didn't fit well where I needed it positioned.

  • Mine was put on in the OR, the surgeon recommended it...and I love it and wore it for weeks after.

  • Nurse put it on me after recovery. I wore it lower to cover my incision when I got home and it helped quite a bit.

  • I never got one in the hospital with my last 2 sections, so after hearing about them so much on this board I bought a good one at Destination Maternity. I'll probably take it to the hospital with me so I can start wearing it ASAP. I also bought a C Panty so hopefully that will work out as well. Things just aren't bouncing back to normal like they used to :)
