Pregnant Mama Check In!

I think there are quite a few of us who are expecting again, so I thought I'd put together a little check in :)

How far along are you?

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS?

Do you know the sex?

Have you picked out any names?

Anything you are doing differently this time around?

How far along are you?  14 weeks, 2 days.

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? I was a lot sicker this time around during my first trimester.

Do you know the sex? We will find out while my mom is visiting next month! In the UK they do not reveal the sex at your A/S so I have to go to a private scanning place.

Have you picked out any names? We are almost 100% that is will be Iain Francis for a boy and Isla Judith for a girl. We wanted to pick a Scottish name as nod to our time here.

Anything you are doing differently this time around? Yes, chasing after a rambunctious toddler ;)In all seriousness, I am much more laid back this pregnancy than I was with DD. I had lunchmeat and regular coffee today.

    How far along are you? 6 w 5 d

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? m/s has kicked in and lasts all day. I had it from week 5-9 with Alex, so I hope it will only last a few weeks with this one, too. So yes, so far it's pretty similar.

Do you know the sex? Nope :-)

Have you picked out any names? Not really. Talked about Louis for a boy and Katie for a girl, but nothing set in stone at all.

Anything you are doing differently this time around? I am a SAHM instead of working the most boring job in the world, so I am on my feet a lot more and on the internet a lot less. This baby sadly doesn't seem to like coffee and water at all, so I am trying to stay hydrated with tea, Sprite, milk and other things that sound good at that moment. I miss having energy after drinking my morning coffee.

  • How far along are you? 20 weeks tomorrow - halfway there!

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? Fairly similar. I've have m/s pretty consistently like I did with DS, however with him I got physically sick pretty much every day at least once and this time it was more constant nausea and throwing up every few days, which is now down to about once/week.

Do you know the sex? Nope, Team Green here.

Have you picked out any names? We have names picked, but are keeping them to ourselves for now.

Anything you are doing differently this time around? It's definitely different with a toddler around! I'm also just a little more lax (sp?) in general and have had caffeine and whatnot.

  • How far along are you? 24 Weeks tomorrow!

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? This pregnancy is so much different than my last, and it's another boy.

Do you know the sex?  Boy!

Have you picked out any names? Garrett Edward

Anything you are doing differently this time around? I'm not as strict with things this time around.

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? The polar opposite. With DS, I could not function with Zofran until 22-24 weeks. This time around, I haven't been sick at all and in fact have hardly any symptoms. I keep forgetting I'm pregnant!

Do you know the sex? Not yet...and we may be team green this time.

Have you picked out any names? We have a list of about 5 names per gender. We'll start to narrow it down in a few months, but even with DS, we went to the hospital with 3 name possibilities.

Anything you are doing differently this time around? Not really. I was a fairly laid back FTM. I may not do a FB announcement this time.

  • I mostly lurk on here anymore but love catching up and seeing how everyone's LO's are doing. I am 35 weeks pregnant with our 2nd. We are team green again! This pregnancy has been much different than my first. I was very sick with my son and felt great up until 38 39 weeks I was still working two jobs. This pregnancy I was not sick at all but have been dealing with bad heartburn and just terrible aches and pains much earlier. I am really excited to meet our new little one so soon.

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? Fairly similar. I'm more tired, and more queasy, but other than that I feel pretty much the same.

Do you know the sex? Nope. Probably team green again, but DH is lobbying hard to find out so we'll see what happens in 2 weeks at my a/s.

Have you picked out any names? Nothing set in stone. We like Benjamin for a boy, but we are at all loss for a girl's name.

Anything you are doing differently this time around? I feel like I'm a lot more relaxed, especially about food.

How far along are you? 8 weeks

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? It's similar, except all the symptoms are starting earlier, and I'm a little more nauseous than I was last time.

Do you know the sex? Not yet

Have you picked out any names? We like Charlie and Elizabeth

Anything you are doing differently this time around? Taking care of a toddler!  Other than that, I'm more relaxed about what I'm eating and am not as scared about avoiding certain "no" foods.

  • How far along are you? 33 weeks

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? I was much more tired and sick in first tri, but feel better than last time now, I have no swelling and am still able to get things off the floor LOL, I think running around after a 1 yr old and my chiropractor have helped a ton.

Also DS1 was doing much worse with coping with the isoimmunity than this LO, the OB is saying I do not even need to go to the high risk hospital for DS2... yay :)

Do you know the sex? Boy

Have you picked out any names? No, and I only have 5 weeks to my RCS, I am starting to paic, but DH and I can't find anything we both like :(

Anything you are doing differently this time around? Not really, I am much more active as I am a SAHM so I am not sitting at a desk all day, but other than that there is really no change.

Diagnosed with Anti little c antibodies. DS1 7.11.11 - Anaemia and Jaundice. 10 days in the NICU, 1 exchange transfusion and 4 blood transfusions. DS2 29.8.13 - Anaemia 7 days in the NICU and 1 exchange transfusion. Both are now happy and healthy.

  • Wow! There are a lot of us that are pregnant again!

How far along are you? 19.5 weeks (but who's counting, lol)

Is this pregnancy similar/different to your pregnancy with DD/DS? A lot different! I threw up a lot with this one, never really threw up with DS. Also, everything seems to be happening sooner. I am bigger than I was last time, I'm already having heartburn/swelling/back pain/etc.  I'm feeling anxious about getting lots of things done around the house (I think that comes from the worry of having the baby early, like last time)

Do you know the sex? DS will have a little sister :)

Have you picked out any names? We had Shelby Lyn picked out for DS if he was a girl. Lyn is for my Mom (her middle name) and for DH's Mom (her name is Marilyn)

Anything you are doing differently this time around? We are in the process of re-doing the guest room into DS's big boy room, and he will be moving. The new baby will be in the nursery.  We are going to try and potty train DS while I'm home on maternity leave (he will be a little over 2).  It's a lot different being pregnant with a little one!  Also, I have to have cervical length checks every 2 weeks via ultrasound this time, so we are seeing our little girl a lot more than we got to see DS.
