What unpopular thoughts have you been having?

Re: UO Thursday

  • I hate tampons.

  • I don't like BumGenius diapers. I'll use Flips in a pinch, but I can't stand BGs.

  • I'm still avoiding TB because of the new layout....

  • I've seen people post UO's that they don't like painted nails on babies. I totally didn't get what the big deal was, and then a friend's foster daughter posted a FB picture of her 2 month old with blue toenails. I have to admit that I cringed.

  • I hate tampons.

I hate tampon applicators and I've tried plastic and cardboard. I tried out OB tampons once and will never go back unless I'm forced to.

I hate that people flush tampons. Those suckers can do some serious damage to pipes. They really shouldn't advertise them as flushable.

I agree, tampons shouldnt be advertized as flushable.

I hate having a reason to need them. I have enjoyed not having a period since June 2012 and af can keep taking her time returning.

My other UO is I hate how fast stuff can build up. I spent the day going through boxes I havent opened in about a year in prep for having a garage sale.

I've been period free since March of 2011. And I'm crossing my fingers that I won't have it until the end of 2014. I was really luck with this pregnancy and caught my first ovulation. It's going to be odd having it again.

The best part is when a doctor or nurse asks me when I had my last period. I just giggle.

  • I hate the fluffiness of cloth on our son. His pants never fit right and his butt is huge!

  • I'm not a huge fan of cloth wipes. I thought I would be and made a ton of wipes myself. I think the cheapy wash cloths would be better than flannel. Gasp! Better than DIY? Better than marketed wipes?? Yep.

Oh well. I'm attempting again. Maybe. Haha. I did include wipes on our amazon order, which is the first disposible baby product we have purchased!

  • I would like to think my UO isn't that unpopular, but it might be.

I'm totally not a "burn down the strip clubs!" type of person, but I found out yesterday that the wrestling coach at my school took a bunch of 14-16 year old boys to Hooters at state wrestling and they turned in a $200 tab that the school is paying for.

I am blood-boiling mad about this, but I probably won't say anything because our supe was also a wrestling coach and I've always suspected a chauvinist. I'm not really sure how to cope with this anger at the situation, though.

ETA I know Hooters isn't the same as a strip club, and what I mean to say is that I've never had a problem with its existence....unless you take a group of teenage boys there on a school sanctioned event.
Now, I'm saying this as an ex hooters girl and ex stripper, so maybe I'm biased, but I don't see the big deal with hooters. I think the boys have probably seen more skin at other school sanctioned events.
Oh, the many layers that make up the onion we call MK.

I'm on the fence with this one. More so that they took kids younger than 16 there. And I highly doubt they notified the parents where they were going.

Personally, I think the waitress was probably more uncomfortable than anything.

  • As a teacher, I'm just disappointed to see another so called professional using such poor judgement. I would never take students to a place like that, and I know my husband (teacher and wrestling coach) wouldn't do that either. And I feel like it has more to do with incurring the disapproval of colleagues, parents, and community. There's plenty of other places to eat... Didn't have to be Hooters. There are plenty of things to fight for in education/extra curriculars, and something like that would only hurt any of your causes.
