PT dilemma - wwyd?

Your LO is 1 minute into a 2 minute timeout...and you hear "I have to go potty." What now?
a) Avoid the accident and rush the kid to the bathroom. Risk: every time he has a timeout, he'll try using potty time to get out of it.
b) Keep the kid in timeout, and face the consequences. Risk: mess to clean up, plus frustrated pt kid.
c) something else? (What, exactly)?

The one time we let him potty, he had to go back to TO when done. The other, we made him stay in TO and after it was done asked if he still had to potty- he didn't.
I think that might be a compromise if e understands the concept of "hold it" even for a few seconds.
