How many inserts for your pockets

My LO has not arrived yet but I have purchased a number of pocket diapers and am looking to replace the microfiber inserts with bamboo.  From what I read, it sounds like everyone uses 2 inserts per diaper.  Is there anyone who only uses 1?  If you use 2, did you try 1 first and have leaking problems before going to 2?

I use 1 usually. Bamboo wicks it away slower so in those I use 2. We may switch to 2 soon I just had bamboo and hemp doublers made.

At this point I use 2 (a microfiber because it absorbs quicker and then a bamboo or hemp because they hold more).  But when I began I would only use one.  It all depends on your baby.  I would suggest getting enough for at least 1 insert per diaper and then you can always purchase more when you need (at that point you will also get a better feel of what you like better on your baby).

Thank you.  I will start with one bamboo and see how that goes.

Is there a benefit to using 1 microfiber + 1 bamboo over 2 bamboo?  I was going to sell the microfiber inserts that came with my pockets to help cover the cost of the bamboo. I think the value would be better if I sell them before washed/used.  By I don't want to sell them if there is an advantage to using them.

This. Sometimes a baby can pee faster than the bamboo absorbs and you get leaks, or so I have heard.

We just use one insert for normal daily changes.  For naptime we use either two bamboo or 1 MF and one bamboo.  At night I use hemp and MF or hemp and hemp/cotton blend.

If it were me I'd sell most of your MF, but maybe keep a handful of them for use in nap and/or nighttime diapers.

With my 12 month old, I am using 1 blueberry bamboo insert under the newborn mf insert that came with my BG 4.0. When I tried just the bamboo alone, it did not always absorb fast enough and I had leaking problems. The blueberry bamboo insert holds a lot of pee. This diaper combo can really go the distance!

I started using two but they poop so much it seemed like they were always dry so I switched to one and it is fine unless we are in the car for a long time or whatever. And I haven't ever had slow absorbing issues with my bamboo or hemp but maybe neither of my twins are super heavy wetters all at once?
