I feel like the o in the name makes it look masculine. H's grandpa's name was Marion, so maybe that's why I thin so?
I prefer Marian for a girl, or even better, Miriam.

I posted above that my mom's name is Marion. I asked my mom once why her parents spelled it that way and not Marian. She told me that Marian is the English spelling and Marion is the Scottish spelling. My grandma was Scottish so that makes sense

I love Marion. It's been on and off our list several times. I would be thrilled to see someone use it.
And if we ever used it---no NN. If I wanted a Mary, I'd name a kid Mary.

I love it. It was my grandmothers name and spelled just like that. I wouldn't use a nn I think its so pretty on its own
