6 days - Am I in the clear?

I know I should have asked my doctor this question last week. My next appointment isn't until the middle of August. So, I had my bloodwork and GD screening last Friday. I haven't heard anything since then. Do you think it's safe to say that I'm in the clear? I assume they would have contacted me if there were any issues by now? Its been almost a week. They wouldn't wait until the middle of August at my next appointment, would they? When my sister had hers, they contacted her a few days later to tell her that her iron was low.

Why don't you call and ask? If I don't get a call it's usually because everything is ok, but personally, I'd want to know for sure rather than assume one way or the other.

You're right, I probably should. My doctors policy seems to be no call if everything is okay.

For all my other tests, I assumed no news was good news. For this one, I was about to travel out of state, and wanted to be sure before I left that everything was good. I called the doc office and they called me back with my result which was within normal range. If something was wrong, I'm sure they would have called you. If you still want some piece of mind, just give them a call.

Mine does no news is good news. I took my glucose Fri and they called Mon to let me know I failed, I think this is one test they try to notify you of results fast.

I would just call, but yeah usually no news is good news. The test results usually come back within a couple of hours. I had my GD test draw at 11:30am and I saw the Dr at 2pm and that plus all of my other blood test results were back in already!

My 3 hr test came back positive for GD, and I didn't find out until a week and a half after I took the test. I thought for sure I was good to go, but NOPE! I'd call!

Wow, I can't believe they'd let you go a week and a half without contacting you about GD. I wonder if 3 hour results take longer than 1 hour. I hope so, otherwise a week and a half seems like a long time to me.

I didn't hear from mine either so after a few days I called. The triage nurse said that they only call if you have GD or something else appears on the results. That may not be every clinics policy though so I would just put in a call to be sure.

I was just about to ask this same question. She said no news is good news and my test was Monday, so I'm going to assume I'm also in the clear.

My hospital does no call = good news. However, they also post all test and lab results online in a patient portal so I receive an email when they are available. I had my 1 hour on Monday and results were back on Wednesday.

Mine doesn't call unless there's a problem. The only call I've gotten was to be told my iron is low. Other than that they don't call me after blood work.
