Hey Gals,
I am only 12 weeks pregnant (with my first) and have been doing a lot of research on cloth diapering. I am pretty much sold and am now trying to convince hubs that it is the right choice, not only for the environment but for baby too. Also, CD's are so stinkin cute!!! I am trying to sell him on the fact of how much $$$ it will save us in the long run. I think I really like the FuzziBunz pocket diapers and was considering a stash of 24+ One Size Elite Cloth Diapers. They "say" they fit from birth to potty training. However, I have read conflicting things on one size diapers, some say that they do not really fit newborns and you need a separate newborn stash, which for me means an addition 24 diapers since I do not want to have to wash diapers every single day. This would double the cost and would be a less convincing argument for DH if we had to spend $800+ vs $400+. I was wondering if the FuzziBunz brand or a different brand of One Size diapers actually do fit newborns who are 6-8lbs (no idea how big or small my baby will be). I would hate to not have diapers that fit our little one if the one sizes are too big for a while, and would equally hate to spend so much extra money on newborn diapers if the one sizes will fit. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Re: considering OS cloth pocket diapers
I agree with PPs. Covers and prefolds are awesome for the NB stage, and very economical. You can get a dozen good quality ones for around $20. So $60 for 36 which would very comfortably handle all the NB poo and allow you to wash every other day. If you use a Snappi on those prefolds to contain the poo better you'd only need around 3-4 covers per day so 6-8 total covers at around $10-$15. Under $200 and you'd be set for around the first 6 weeks. After that you can use the prefolds to add absorbency to your OS diapers and sell the covers or save for future babies. The other economical option is to do a diaper rental. Several websites will rent NB pockets, fitteds, or all-in-ones for 1-3 months.
After that FB one-sized are good diapers, but they don't fit all babies the same. So as PP said, it's really a good idea to get one or two of maybe four different brands/styles to try. Then sell what you don't like and buy more of what you do. Also keep in mind that what fits well when baby is 12lbs may not fit as well when baby is 25lbs. I really love my Rumparooz pocket diapers, but I can tell already (LO is 20lbs) that they won't fit all the way to potty training for us.
One other thing to consider is a sized system. AppleCheeks size 1s will fit around 6-7 pounds up to 18-20lbs. Kawaii Pure & Naturals will also fit around those sizes. Then you can get the bigger sizes or try OS diapers when baby outgrows those.

All of this
Only snap covers, no aplix/hook and loop
A dozen osocozy unbleached prefolds
A dozen osocozy better fit prefolds
A pack of snappis
About 4 covers each of Thirsties and blueberry
4 best bottoms with various inserts: standard stay dry, cotton hemp, and bamboo. These covers can also be used with the prefolds
12 bumgenius 4.0s, pockets, that I just got yesterday used on Craigslist, for less than the price of what it would have cost me for 4
4 Flip covers with inserts
After seeing what works best for baby, and myself and DH, we'll build our stash so we have at least over a dozen of whatever we decide. Probably will stick to 2 or 3 different types, depending on home use, going out, weekend trips, baby anatomy, wetting patterns, etc.
Also, getting a bunch of planet wise wet bags. And I'm trying Charlie's Soap for detergent, and coconut oil andor CJ's BUTTer for baby's butt only if needed. Hope this helps!
