Weaning

If I want to stop nursing around the 6 month mark, is there anything I should be doing now to prepare? Baby is 3 months and has never taken a bottle. Can a 6 month old use a bottle if they never have? What formula should I give? I don't know what to do. I'll start purées and oatmeal then too

    Check out Kellymom.com, it has some great resources.

    It’ll be hard on both of you, but you’ll adjust. Start with a basic formula, and you basically can only go by trial and error. I used generic brands, like Kirkland. Your boobs are not going to like you either. I use cabbage to help alleviate the pain, and only hand express very little to avoid keeping my supply up but not hate my life and have arm pit tits.

    GL, it’s been a long time since I weaned, and I am not looking forward to it here in a few months.
