So when I had my first ultrasound last week I thought I was 8 weeks, and they could literally find nothing in my uterus. My doctor thought it was maybe ectopic but we waited to get my betas drawn and scheduled a follow-up ultrasound just to be sure. Last night I went to ER because I was having severe pain on the my right side and after a call to the on-call nurse, she suggested I go in. I had blood work and an ultrasound and they found a gestational sac measuring at 7 weeks, 4 days but no fetal pole or yolk sac. Of course my husband and I were shocked and at first and we thought this was good news, but after some googling (the PA that treated me was just like, "Oh, who knows, everything could be fine but I don't really know") I'm thinking its a blighted ovum.
My numbers increased from 14,200-something to 20,080...in a week. So not a good sign to begin with. And then everything I read says that at the size my sac was I should see a fetal pole and yolk sac at least, if not a heartbeat. I have my scheduled follow-up ultrasound today so I will talk to my doctor then but its not looking good. It just made it kind of harder to deal with this miscarriage because I had already come to terms with it and last night for about a half hour I thought things were turning around only to find out that its probably still bad news.
I will keep you all updated as to what my doctor says today. Thinking of you all.
