So I a currently slated to return to work on Sept 4th, but the position they want to offer me is 30 minutes from home, late hours, and with the 12 hour shifts my DH works probably not compatible with a 1 year old and a kindergarten student so it is starting to look as though I will be staying home with my sweet baby girl.
I am really excited to get this opportunity, even if it means DH will have to pick up extra shifts on his week off, because I have been a wreck over my return to work. I am in Canada and have had a year off with my little girls, but as the date has been getting closer I am realizing I don't want to miss out on her being little and think this crappy work offer has been a blessing in disguise.
My question for those who SAH are do you do anything on the side for extra cash for the family? I know of a lot of moms sew/knit/etc and I am just curious what kinds of other side projects our sahm's do.

Re: Unexpected turn of events
He is absolutely on board with this. When he works overtime he gets paid time and a half automatically. He works in the traffic division of our highways up here, so when winter hits he also does snow plowing as well, which works out to a good chunk because they get a bonus for plowing.
I am also looking into some school upgrading online for myself so that once my littlest is in school, I will be able to command more when I go back to work. I am currently a pharmacy technician and would be able to go to school and go back as a registered technician which is a higher paying position.
