Golfer Makes $1M Sacrifice

for the birth of his baby.

Thoughts or comments?
What would you want your SO to do?

A million dollars is super valuable...the birth of your child is priceless.

Re: Golfer Makes $1M Sacrifice

  • I'm pretty sure my SO would take the million, and I can't say I'd be upset about it.  A million dollars would totally benefit us and possibly future generations.  I think most people would take the million.

  • Was the million a sure thing??

    I think we'd probably go for the million. But I'll have to ask DH, he might feel differently.
    I used to be a big deal.  Now I'm just old.

    He was leading the tournament...on hole 9 (out of 12) when he got the call.

  • Hmmm that's tough. I'll have to ask dh what he would do. I guess it probably depends on their finances. Idk.

  • depends on how much money they already have. if they already make over a million dollars a year, then of course it's no biggie. a drop in the bucket. for nobodies like me, i'd be pissed if h missed $10k because he was in the hosp with me.

  • ::Lurker from Nov13::

    I follow PGA golf like crazy and this guy can definitely afford to miss the million. Just a few weeks ago he won nearly $176,000 and came in 9th during the The British Open.

    I'm not saying its not completely admirable, because it is (I wonder if Tiger would have done the same?). Just like a pp said, these guys (especially the ones that play in all four majors) make quite a bit a money as it is.

    ::going back to lurking now::
  • I think for someone who has opportunities to make that kind of money on a fairly regular basis that it probably isn't that big of a deal for him to have left the tourney.

    If it was my DH on the other hand, I would have told him to stay put and get that money because we are regular people and $1M would make a huge difference for us.
