Updated Got any spare T & Ps?

I know I have been super MIA lately, and I am so sorry! I will hopefully be back to offer support more regularly soon. You ladies are never far from my thoughts!

Today is the girls 8 month "birthday" and our follow up at the Neonatology clinic. If you have any extra t & p's, could you please send them our way? I am so anxious about this appointment, I just want to be done with the Neonatology clinic for.ev.er!

Hope everyone is doing great, big squishy hugs to all who need them!

Update: Guh. So not done with the Neo. :( The girls are showing low muscle tone in their legs and hips, and about a 20% delay across the board. Weekly PT, here we come. Today we wound up having both hip x rays and hip ultrasounds. We will get the results next week. Tonight, I am having a pity party, tomorrow, I will call IE. :)

    I'm so sorry you didn't get the news that you wanted! I just wanted to chime in that at that age both boys were showing a delay and S had low muscle tone in his lower extremities. At almost 16m they are both running everywhere full speed. S was a lot slower to learn to pull up, cruise, and walk, but he did it all within a normal timeframe. We don't have any explanation for the low tone except that its more common in twins because of lack of space in the womb. I'm hoping that's what is going on with your girls and they will have no major issues.

    We did PT through EI from 2m until 11m for torticollis and the low tone and will likely do speech therapy for J. Let me know if you have any questions about it! Every state is different but I think there are some things that are pretty across the board.

    @missa_g thank you for chiming in. I may pm you later, if that is okay? This is ridiculously hard. I know as a loss mom, and then as a preemie mom, I kind of feel like the hits just keep coming! And the Neo's are all so...blase about everything, that it is hard to keep up!

    ((hugs)). I get it. I really really get it! And it is tough when the doctors are so nonchalant when giving you extremely disappointing news.

    So far we have had great experiences with ECI. Anna gets PT, OT, and a specialized skills trainer. She automatically qualified for all services based on her diagnoses, but she had to be evaluated by each therapist separately before receiving services from them. I recommend you ask about this up front because here there can be a wait for an evaluation and then a wait to get on the rotation. Even if you don't need a service right away (ex: speech), if you have already had an evaluation you can get services sooner when the time comes. I hope all that made sense!
