Considering starting it now and freezing but is it really worth it to start already or just wait until baby starts eating and make a couple weeks supply every other week? We have a baby breeza and a magic bullet and aFood processes so I am pretty sure I can whip up a decent amount of food in a couple hours.
I make my own for use at home and use organic jars/pouches for when we're out and about. You have time, although I do find they go through it quickly. I made mine using my food processor, then froze into ice cube trays. After they were frozen I popped them out and stored them in a ziplock bag in the freezer.
I haven't started yet but I'm planning on it. On Pinterest there is a great link I have pinned, "How to make a months worth of baby food in an hour" or something like that.
I'd also like to start now, only because we have the veggies growing in our own garden NOW! I'd hate to buy these things in a few months... How long does it keep?

I will probably do more of my own baby food this time around now that I am not working. We will try a partial baby led weaning too and see how it goes. I bought some reusable packets called squooshi from amazon for ds1 and he wasn't as keen on it since he got used to conventional ones. I would like to try it more with ds2 since I already have them.
I made all of DS's food and will do the same for DD.
That said, I would wait to make anything. There are certain guidelines you should follow, and you really ought to talk to your pedi (4 month visit?) before starting purées.
For example, you should only offer single-ingredient purées at first, and only offer one type of food for a few days before introducing something new. Also some people suggest certain foods that are less likely to cause allergic reactions. It's worth taking some time and doing a little research first.

Great idea on using veggies from the garden now. I forget how quickly he will be eating them! They grow up too fast!
We made our own with DS and he would never eat any of the packaged stuff except the bananas. It did make things a little trickier when we were on the go or visiting others. It was perfect that he was 6 months in July so there were plenty of fresh fruits and veggies for him to try. We will definitely do it again will DD.
