How was your night? Any news, updates, milestones?

QOTD: How long have you and your SO been together? When's your next anniversary and what will you do?

  • I tossed and turned a lot! Got some sleep here and there. My back and chest/collar bone areas are so sore from lying on my sides. I try to do range of motion exercises with the free arm when not lying on it. I use the example everyday I feel like I've done P90x chest and back for the first time with weights that were too heavy! ;-)

QOTD: September 6th is our wedding anniversary. We'll have been married 5 years and together 7. I'll probably be recovering from the c/s and getting use to life with babies so I doubt we'll do anything. I told DH it's going to be pretty hard for him to top my gifts this year. ;-)

  • Last night stunk! I think I have a sinus infection.  I got up a few times and took a warm shower and steamed my sinus' out and drank tea.

I have my 36(ish) week appt today with my OB and a NST at 1.  Hopefully going to get a haircut if my OB will let me quickly after my appt because my eyebrows are OUT OF CONTROL.  Anyone watch breaking bad? I feel like the guy who owned the carwash, except blonde. ha

DH and I have been married for 5 years this year and share an anniversary with you, @StaceyMack ! We've been together 6 years.  We met (at a bar) fell in looooooooove, were engaged 8 months later and were then married 6 months after that.   We're not doing anything for our anniversary this year, we thought we'd just have a baby instead!

I'm sorry about your sinus infection! That's so cool we share the same anniversary! Good luck today and let us know how it goes.

  • Heartburn city this morning. I slept good. No new changes/milestones. Thinking about talking to my "new" OB about a discharge plan. My regular OB who I would walk on fire for decided to go and have a baby. She is actually on the floor near me but how creepy for a patient to go in and say congratulations. I have one of her partners from the practice, women is a genius. Yale, Harvard med, Johns Hopkins...just some of her education so I trust she has her shitz together.

My DH and I have been together for 3 years. We just got married in February as I was very against marriage--didn't see the point as long as we were in love but during all of our infertility treatment we saw it would be easier to be married for health insurance/billing reasons. I chased this man down for many months before he finally went on a date with me. He was enjoying his bachelor life before me. We are 10 years apart.

  • How was your night? Any news, updates, milestones? I slept ok, was up with acid refluxe and multiple bathroom runs. I spent yesterday in LD, I was having contractions less than a minute apart. I was monitored for hours mainly because the babies made it very difficult to find and keep their heartbeats. My procardia dose was increased and I was sent back home on MBR. My cervix was measured Monday at my OB appt & I was told it was less than 1, yesterday they said it was 1.9....I don't know which is correct as it looked te same to me, but what do I know!

QOTD: How long have you and your SO been together? When's your next anniversary and what will you do?
Our 4 year anniversary will be Oct 3. We will be lucky to go out to dinner alone!
  • Update: 25w2d I had a rough day yesterday with lots of contractions, but they slowed down in the afternoon with a saline drip and lots of rest. They were worried about the toll the contractions were having on my cervix so they checked it to figure out if they were going to put me on magnesium again. It went from a 1.5 last Friday to a 2.0. So, we're just staying on Procardia. They stopped my IV of fluids too. I was up every hour to hour and a half going to the restroom because I had so much fluid in me. I need to make sure I drink plenty and eat plenty. I had not eaten much the past couple of days because I was worried and nauseated.

QOTD: We will have our 5 year wedding anniversary in October. I hope to still be pregnant then since my due date is mid November. Seems like so far away.

Hi ladies! I was just put on strict bed rest as of Tuesday. I am 26 weeks 2 days. My cervix is shortened and funneling down to 0.98cm. I was put on bed rest at 27 weeks with my first pregnancy for a shortened cervix with funneling down to 1.7cm. I delivered him just a couple hours after his due date. I'm pregnant with twin boys this time, my second pregnancy was a baby girl who I had no issues with!

I'm nervous, annoyed, frustrated, scared. Pissed off. LOL My husband and my MIL are driving me insane. My MIL is pressuring me to do hospital bed rest, something my doctor considered or is considering depending on what happens. She has had her spare bedroom set up as a nursery/kid's room since I was pregnant with my first 5 years ago and neither of my kids have ever spent a night at her house. Lets just say she would love to play mommy. **gagging** Sorry. Feeling extra emotional today and like everything is out of control. :( She came and picked up my kids this morning and they will spend the day at her house. Ho-hum. My husband stayed home this morning but he is acting like a jerk. He can't understand why I'm having a hard time today. It's my 2nd full day of bed rest. I had my sisters here all day yesterday so I didn't really deal with it. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. I'm sure you all can relate.

ETA: QOTW We will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary on Sept 2nd.

My night was ok. I didn't get to sleep until late, but that may have had something to do with my 3 hour afternoon nap. ;)

I was having about a million contractions too. I am pretty much to the point I don't even want to time them. I don't get to take anything for them, and when I go to the hospital they don't do anything for me. They just say, "yep you sure are having a bunch of contractions, but you aren't in labor so go home!" I know I'm not in labor when I go in, but isn't it bad to be having so many contractions?
One and a half weeks, and I will be off strict bed rest. I am so ready.

QOTD: Dh and I have been friends for 6 years, and we became roommates right after we started dating. So we have lived together for 4 years. We have been married for 2 years officially on October 8th. For our anniversary this year we don't have any plans. I'm sure we will still be pretty wrapped up in our LO to even think about it. lol.

Sorry you are so stressed. :( I know I was the same way when I was first put on bed rest. It is not easy to swallow. I hope you start to feel better about it soon, and know you are doing the best you can for your LO by resting.

I am in the hospital due to contractions. They are keeping me at least overnight. I am in iv fluids and procardia.

QOTD: we will celebrate our 13th anniversary in October. We were together 4 yrs before we were married.
    DS#1 born 9/23/06
Twins DS#2 and 3 born at 31 weeks, 3 days due to a short cervix on 8/2/13.
  • Kim: Yeah for getting to go back home and increased cervical length!
Aliwisewoman: The first few days (weeks) are the most difficult, I'm sorry you're DH is being a jerk while you're dealing with the emotions.  Maybe he is emotional too because he know what to expect this time with bed rest, at least that's the way my DH was.  On the way home from finding about bed rest, I had my DH stop at a liquor store, and I gave him my CC and told him to go buy a bottle of jack and he was allowed to get drunk that night and then it was time to prepare for bed rest round 2.  Worked for him :)

Today is 32 weeks, which means we can deliver at our hospital if I go into labor early instead of having to be transported to a hospital with a specialty NICU.

QOTD: DH and I have been together for 12 years and married for 8.  Who knows what we will do for our next anniversary, as that is June.  This year, it was a week after I was put on MBR and wasn't very exciting, although I feel like since our 5 year anniversary, we haven't done anything except go out to dinner and a movie...pretty boring.

Rougher night last night, looking forward to a nap!

My husband and I have been together 19 years, married 12 on September 22. He finally wore me down! :). No idea of plans.

Thoughts and prayers to those of you going through a rough time. Happy day, everyone!

  • Last night was actually ok. My contractions have slowed down significantly. I think I'm still losing pieces of plug but I'm not too sure that it means anything. The pressure is still there as well. I'm anxious for my appointment tomorrow to see if this has all done anything to my cervix this week. When I left labor and delivery my cervix was at a 1.1 and I was dilated a loose 2.
I'm super nervous because when I delivered my daughter at 36 weeks I never had strong or consistent contractions I just dilated quickly. I went in to see if I had peed or my water had broken (turns out I had peed) and I was at a 6 without feeling anything. I had her by the next morning with little more than period like cramping and nothing that was timeable. I'm afraid this guy is just going to fall out at home!

QOTD- hubs and I have been dating since our sophomore year of high school. This year is 12 years together and 6 years married.
  • I slept ok. My back and shoulders are pretty sore from lying on my side so often. My husband and I have been married 3 years. Our anniversary was yesterday.
  • @ilovetolaugh try getting ocean spray nasal spray its just saline water but it works so well. From being in the hospital forba few days and that dry air in there I ended up with a bad one and I have fought it off with ocean spray.

Update on me: Slept horrible last night. Either side I tried to lay on hurt so bad my right side hurts worse when I lay on it at night like they push on everything in there. Im pretty sure one of them was up near my ribs last night too. I have awful pelvic pain at night like when I get out of bed it feels as though my pelvic bones are breaking. Im very blessed to finally have these miracles but pg sure is rough.

Qotd: My dh and I have been together for over 7 yrs and married for 6. We love to go camping or something exciting for our anniversaries but ours is in September so looks like we will either still be trying to keep these babies in or having them so we will probably just get gifts for each other. I feel so bad that he has to do so much for me now but he's a trooper. He works all day comes home and cooks, cleans, and waits on me. So very lucky.

I just found out that the MFM is recommending I stay until 34 weeks and then they will retest to see if I am leaking. Not the news I wanted to hear. I will have been here two weeks tomorrow and now am looking at least at two more.
So sorry that you have to stay longer.  Hopefully you get to rest at home in 2 weeks!

  • Yesterday was 31 weeks and we had a standard OB appointment in terms of "hey you're dilated, stay on bed rest but make sure to walk around.." Oh well. What was interesting was that she gave me a spec and a digital exam and said there's no way I'm dilated over a tight two, which they said when I left the hospital. However, at one point during my stay, I was 2-3. I wonder if I closed back up...is that even possible?!
    :-?

My fiance and I have been together for less than a year. Our anniversary is August 14. I was married before, to my high school sweetheart, who turned out to be very troubled and abusive. My fiance is the most patient and kind soul and he's a chef! Great for a GD girl on bed rest!
  • I had an appt Tuesday with Perinatology and no change from my last BR check-in post. So I am not sure if I should consider that a good thing or a bad thing :|

I have been on bed rest for 8 days now but my body is soooo sore! My neck, back, shoulders, and hips are throbbing almost constantly. I know I am doing the best I can for the twins but ugh!

QOTD: My hubby and I will be married for 7 years on 8/26 and together for 10 years 10/14. He was planning a "babymoon" for us but now I think getting out of the house to attend my baby shower on 8/24 will be our anniversary outing. My sister is throwing a family style shower complete with a bounce house for the kids!
