Infection in Dog

I just found out that my dog has a staph infection. Does anyone know if this is contagious to my son? How worried should I be before I can call my ped in the morning? TIA

    We found out last week that my dog has one in her ear. It was bad. $200 worth of prescriptions later, and she's doing better. DD did come down with a bacterial superinfection in that time frame, by I don't think it was related.
