So DD used to not mind getting her teeth brushed at all but as she's getting more independent she starting to hate it. Any thoughts or suggestions on making this time of day not so miserable for all of us?
TIA!

My son is very independent. I let him brush first and then I brush after that. He just plays with the brush but he tries. He doesn't always like for me to follow behind him but its not negotiable.
When we started with DS1, he hated it too. We gave him control by offering choices. He still has three different brushes to pick from and he loves it. I used to let him brush my teeth at the same I brushed his. It distracted him enough that I could brush his with little difficulty.

I bought a very fluffy bathroom rug and she loves laying on it and letting me brush her teeth. Totally, accidentally stumbled on this when we moved and it's been a life saver. DD is a very cursory brusher and I have been battling with her for years.
Mine hates it too, and he's about your age. He SCREAMS like we're murdering him. He loves to brush our teeth, which we let him do first. Then we tell him to brush his, which he won't. Then we brush his for him, which he hates.
He calms down immediately after we're done, but still. Ugh!
He actually loves his toothbrush b/c it has a sucker on the end and he can stick it to the wall or the side of the bath tub...as long as we don't stick it in his mouth he's fine with it.
Re: Daughter hates brushing teeth-Help
We downloaded this app for the iphone/ipad. My daughter loves it - catchy song and the kids earn points to dress up the character.
