Pregnant after a Loss

What classes to take??

I had my 25 week appt yesterday and got a book about the classes the hospital offers. My dr. recommended the lamaze class. What classes are you taking or plan on taking?

Re: What classes to take??

  • We just took a condensed birthing class (which was two days - 7 hours each day) and a breastfeeding class.

  • The only class my hospital offers is a prenatal/childbirth class. The last week of that class is all about breastfeeding. They also offer a return-to-work breastfeeding class (which I hope I won't need, since I'd like to SAH) and a sibling class. DH is taking a Daddy Boot Camp class! :)
  • I am not sure about the child birth class but I am taking the breastfeeding classes.

  • I took a 4 week childbirth/lamaze class and a child care class. DH also took a first time dad class. I'm glad that I took the childbirth class, but the others were kind of a waste of time for us. Although, they did reinforce that we knew how to care for an infant, so I guess it wasn't a total waste. I was just nervous that there was something huge out there that I didn't know about. I probably would have taken a breastfeeding class, but the timing just didn't work out.
  • We are taking a 7 week, 2 hours each week, childbirth class that includes breastfeeding and a hospital tour, Happiest Baby on the Block, and Labor Massage. DH is taking Daddy Bootcamp. I also want to take a CPR class, but haven't signed up yet.
  • We took the Lamaze class over a weekend.  It was a lot of good info and not just breathing techniques.  We're also taking a childcare class (basically, baby 101) and a CPR class.
