Computer nerds, I need help! Pwease.

I'm trying to email a file(letter head) to a recipient from Microsoft works.

I'm able to attach the file and send it but the recipient is unable to open it.

What am I doing wrong?

  • I'm thinking its us because nobody can seem to open any of our files from Microsoft works.
  • I have windows 7 if that makes a difference.

I'm thinking they don't and we don't have office. Is there any way to still send it?
  • Word or Outlook *should* be able to open works files.

A mac might not be able to.

  • Can you save as a pdf and resend?

    How do I do that?
  • Hit file- save as- then under the document name it probably says word document or something like that, that is usually a drop down menu click the arrow and in the options should be pdf. This assumes you have it on your computer. ..

Also it that drop-down you may be able to change it to a different type of word document

I usually bring up the print menu, and print to a file. I'm not exactly sure where that is on windows 7. If there's a printer drop down menu, click on it and see if there's a 'print to file' or 'print to pdf' selection.

Okay, it shows no option for pdf.

    This is what it shows.

  • Try saving it with the ending ".doc" instead of ".docx"

Thank you, I sent it so I'll see shortly if he's able to open it.

  • Got it! Thank you, thank you @Crash Into Me and @kellijo1013
  • You all get a love it for helping. YW.
