I'm going to be introducing my newborn to my just turned 1-year-old in November. My older son is too little to even begin to try to introduce the concept of becoming a big brother. We're still working on "no," "Momma," and "Dadda."
What did other parents with children very close together do to manage the sudden change for their older child(ren)? I'm concerned about how to manage without my son having language skills and only limited reasoning skills.
My situation was different since my son was just 2, but to be honest, it was a pretty easy adjustment. We kept him in daycare and his days didn't change except when I had to do solo bedtimes (that was a nightmare).
I'm sure there are some books you can read to him, but I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. Your LO will be pretty little, so as far as he will remember the new baby will always have been there (if that makes sense).
