Waiting period

How long did you have to wait before your doctor would see you?  Is it normal to wait a week or more before your doctor see's you?

Background: I naturally miscarried early Saturday morning, I called my doctor's office to find out what I needed to do next.  I just started a new job so I was hoping not to miss work for this appointment but if I waited till they had availability my appointment wouldn't be until Aug 6th!! So I gave in and made my appointment during work and spoke with my boss to get a couple hours off.  My appointment is this Friday.

    I'm not sure. My doctor's office isn't planning to see me at all, which feels a bit strange, but I'm miscarrying at 7 weeks along and had not even been in for my initial prenatal visit yet. I talked to a midwife on the phone and she just said to take a home pregnancy test in a few weeks and if it's negative then we can assume the process is done. Do you know what they will do at your appointment on Friday?

    They told me that they would do blood work to make sure my hcg levels return back to normal, but that's it.

    My doctor saw me the next day. I was 10 weeks and found out during a ultrasound that the baby had stopped growing and no longer had a hb. It may be different depending on how far along you are.

    Oh. Well, then I'm not sure. I had to have a d and c because my body was not doing it on its own. Maybe that's the difference? In any case, if you are concerned, call again and explain your concern and forcefully, but politely, request you be seen sooner.

    The HCG will at least let them know that it is not an ectopic pregnancy. If you have extensive bleeding, severe pain, fever and such then I'd go to emerg. Hope you find answers soon.

    My Doctor isn't planning on doing a follow up.  I took miso and the nurse did a phone call a few days later with me.  They told me to call back in a few weeks if I am still bleeding.  I was 9 weeks at the time.  It has been about a week and half and I just have light spotting so I assume I am ok. 
    1st BFP 6/12/13, EDD 2/24/14,  blightum ovum diagnosis 7/17/13
    2nd BFP 9/20/13, EDD 6/1/14 -- hoping for our sticky baby!

    Mine is just having me come in for blood work at the moment. I have my second round tomorrow. I'm still getting no real information on what's going on with me and the miscarriage.  Unless my levels don't lower after tomorrows blood work, I don't think they are setting me up with an appointment. Which freaks me out, this is my first miscarriage. I have no idea what I'm doing and where to go from here.

    Do you have to go to the office for bloodwork? I use the lab associated with our hospital. They have an ongoing beta hcg test in there. I can go get my blood drawn 1x a week til my hcg is at 0. I'd hate for you to miss work if they are only poking you with a needle.

    With my first M/C my OB just did blood work to confirm that my levels went down.  They didn't need/want to see me at all following.  It may depend how far along you are, how many m/c you've had and the DR?

    No I just run in during my lunch breaks, I'm in and out in about ten minutes. Then I call the hospital the next day and talk to my nurse.

    I began miscarrying after hours and called my OBs answering service. She immediately called me back and told me to come in as soon as they opened.

    One week seems like a long time.

    Idk, I have to go in on a weekly basis for a beta until the levels are zero to make sure I won't need a d and c.

    My doctor wanted to see me two weeks after my D&C.  I would hope that your new boss would be more than understanding.  ((Hugs)) to you, so sorry for your loss.
