I know the plot. I read it last night on Wikipedia.
I'm creeped out and fascinated at the same time.
Should I read it or just settle on reading the Wikipedia articles?

You don't understand the appeal of Benedict Cumberbatch / think he's fug / don't know who he is? WATCH SHERLOCK. Until you do, your negative opinion of him will not be taken seriously.
It is not worth reading. From what I remember it was some weird ass teenage smut type stuff. It wasn't even well written. I read it when I was 12, so I really don't remember much about it just that I wasn't impressed with it even at age 12.
No, I missed out on that when I was young. I feel like I'm missing out on a major piece of pop culture and that makes me sad.
Like when people say they never listened to Material Girl.

@humptydance My mother was an avid reader and encouraged me to read from a ver young age. I spent a good portion of my childhood reading. It was my escape. I really hope that my kids will enjoy reading. We already read at least 3 books with DS every night. I hope we keep it up.
I can't remember if I saw the movie first or read the books first. My mom was a huge reader so she always encouraged me to read when I was a kid. I hope that I can get my kids into reading like she did for me.
I don't think I ever saw my parents read nor did they encourage me to read. This is something I am aiming to change for my girls.

I read it when I was 13. Read it again at 18/19. It didn't get any better the second time around. It just leaves you with a heavy crushing feeling and might maybe gross you out with the tons of incest involved.

And that the whole thing cycles through generations that way.

I had a friend that read it and she said it really creeped her out. Like bad. She's a pretty avid reader of sci-fi/fantasy type stuff. She's in love with the Lord Of The Rings books so if that is your style maybe FITA wouldn't be your thing.
