Trying to Get Pregnant

9 DPO. Too early or too late for symptoms?

I was recently diagnosed with PCOS and have really long cycles. This is our first cycle trying to conceive and it took 68 days to ovulate. I'm 9 dpo today and I have absolutely no symptoms. I've read so many post that women have symptoms like cramps or sore boobs or implantation bleeding by the 8 or 9 dpo mark. So I'm wondering, is having no symptoms at this point mean it likely did't happen of us this time or is it still possible? Anyone get a BFP with no symptoms beforehand? I want to stay hopeful simply because I hate the idea that it could be another two to three months before I ovulate again. Thank you.

Re: 9 DPO. Too early or too late for symptoms?

  • No symptoms (other than missed period) until I was 5.5 weeks pg.  Then my only symptom was sore boobs for several weeks.
  • Loading the player...
  • I never had any symptoms with my pregnancy until I was about 5 weeks pregnant. At least none of the "pregnancy" symptoms. Increased since of smell, morning sickness, sore boobs, being tired...etc.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • Thank you jcsumm0. I feel a little more at ease and hopeful.
  • Thanks Pintobean!
  • Me too.  No symptoms until 6 and 5 weeks.

  • Same. No symptoms until I was around 6 weeks. I wouldn't put much stock in looking for implantation bleeding either. It's pretty rare and for most women it's afterthought symptom meaning that women that do have implantation bleeding can't identify it as that until they get a BFP. Good luck!
  • Everyone is different, some girls might get symptoms and some don't.
  • Thanks everyone. I'm getting excited again. I hope to test in a few days and despite not having symptoms I'm hopeful for a BFP.
  • The only symptom that I had before about 5.5 weeks was that I was extremely emotional and I had cramps starting at about  4 weeks. It was pretty much exactly like pms, so I had no clue that I was pregnant until I got a bfp at 13 dpo. I wouldn't worry at all about having no symptoms. You can definitely still hope!

I've had months with symptoms and months with no symptoms...never a bfp. It's your first month, so I wouldn't be too surprised if you see a negative. It can take a healthy couple up to a year to get pregnant.

It doesn't mean a thing. I had no symptoms ever with DD. I was the obnoxious woman freaking out that I felt like my old self while everyone else was throwing up their breakfast...

  • I had absolutely no early symptoms with my BFP in December, but that ended with a loss at 8 weeks, so take from this what you want. I think if you lurk enough and hit the googles you should know that it's common for symptoms not to appear for many women until 6 weeks or later, seems silly to be worrying about none at 8 or 9 DPO. Other than we keep hearing stories from women who swear they have every symptom in the book before 10 DPO making us think no symptoms is abnormal, when really it isn't.
