For those of you who lurked before jumping in, how long did you lurk before posting? Hours? Days? Weeks? Months?

I lurked about half way through my pregnancy until I started posting in February. I was just nervous to join the conversations.

Obviously I'm not a lurker anymore, but months! When we were pregnant, my job was not conducive to bumping and I didn't get home until after 6:30 pm Pacific Time.

Months. And more months. Once I got the gumption to write I forgot my old knot account password and gave up for a while. I needed a new account to change my SN anyway but rarely bumped from my PC to do it. Excuses, excuses. Finally jumped in when lurkers were politely given the floor to own up to their lurkery. After that it was easy and fun!

I lurked until D was born. Being on the west coast I always felt that I was catching up on the day as everyone else was getting ready for bed.

I've always posted from time to time from when I was first pregnant until now, more active at times, but I couldn't bump at work and my blackberry sucked for mobile..I have an iPhone now and I can post easier...but I still don't love mobile.

I have lurked off and on since I got pregnant. Every now and then I do an intro in start posting more, but then I get busy and I'm not able to post for a while. I feel like because I cannot be consistent I will forever be a lurker.

ugh still a lurker! I need to get with the program. Still waiting on the bump gods to change my username since I mistakingly used my first and last name. I did post a few times while I was pregnant and right after the baby was born but I just drifted into the lurker world shortly after. I am sad that everyone is leaving to go to fb-I do enjoy the posts and have gotten alot of good tips from here. As soon as I get my username changed I promise to post more

I've lurked since I was pregnant with DD - I think I did an intro a few weeks after she was born, but post maybe once every two weeks at the most - because I feel like I didn't really have anything interesting to say - everything I would say was asked/answered by others (usually in a much more comical way than I would have put something

) I suck at keeping up with things so I figured it was just better to lurk than be in and out so much. But I've tried to be a little more active lately because I don't want the board to die!

I lurked most of my pregnancy. I post something early on and everyone jumped on me. I cried all day. Eventually I learned to put my big girl pants on and try again. So I try to post more regularly now.

Ive been with the board since I found out I was pregnant but I have active times and lurking times. I guess I just go through spurts. When I was on the knot I lurked a couple months before starting to post.

I lurked on this board off and on the beginning of pg. I was active on pgal until like 32 or 34 weeks. I had introduced myself already though, and then re-introed when I felt "comfortable" enough to believe I would be an A12 mom.

I am a full fledged lurker. Every time I attempt to try something, I get frustrated and give up, lol! I am actually trying to change my signature and post a picture in another thread and I am having no luck... Any suggestions? If I can figure it out, I would love to be more interactive.... Also, I hate not getting notifications...

I don't know why, but right under the title of this post (on the main wall) it said "answered" with a check mark. I haven't answered anything on here... WEIRD.

Anyway, I lurked for maybe 10 minutes before jumping in, lol.. I was a noob here, but not to the forum world so I felt comfortable.

I lurked for a month or two when DD was 2 months old. I wanted to respond, actually I mostly wanted to ask questions, but I was always on mobile and my phone wouldn't let me post. One miraculous day it let me post, so I came out of hiding!

I think it means the OP selected that as the best answer. I'm on mobile all the time so Indont know how or where that button is but pretty sure that's what it means.

I lurked on TTC to get the rules down before I posted there (a week or two), was there for about a month, but jumped right in to the August board when I got pregnant.

Edited-- I checked the dates, and it looks like I lurked on TTC before joining for a long time and then got a BFP a few weeks after joining. I thought I commented for a while (not prolifically, but over a longer period of time), but I was wrong, or might have used my old Nest account or something.

After many months of lurking I've finally created an account. I've always felt bad reading your helpful answers and never posting anything myself, but was intimidated in the beginning and never found the courage to start posting. I also live in Europe and by the time I see the posts they're old news for the rest of you. That's how I've been justifying my shyness to myself anyway

However, this group with all its shared experiences - there was always someone asking the same question I wanted answers to - have helped me deal with the constant seconf guessing that accompanies PPD/PPA and I'm going to try and start actively posting. Be warned though, I do not have a witty turn of phrase or anything interesting to say, and i am terrible at following these things through, but rather than contine lurking in the current upheaval I'll add my hat to the ring. Hope my long lurking history isn't too creepy for you all. Sorry this post is so long. I was going to introduce myself in a new thread but couldn't work out how to start one. I'm off to a smashing start...

When I joined the bump it was so I could ask questions on the Single Parent board and that was my main board for a while. When I found this one, I lurked a few days and would post every now and them, but never thought I had anything helpful to say, so I didn't. I'm trying to post more now though

i've lurked on and off for a loooong time-- like since midway through my pregnancy. like someone else said upthread, i either felt clueless and was looking for advice, or someone else had already said what i was going to say. plus i always seem to come to threads late after everyone has already abandoned them, since i'm the last person on earth without a smartphone, and i'm not on every day.
