So DS has been sick for over a week and he was acting really fussy yesterday with unconsolable crying and didn't want to eat all day. Had a temp of 101.3 at doc's office and a really red throat and still a runny nose, no ear infection or strep throat just a virus! So ibuprofen is our best friend but need recommendations on what your LO eats when they have a sore throat, he doesn't really want to eat anything and have been giving him yogurt and applesauce and he eats crackers which surprises me. Also we have the thermometer on the forehead and definitely not accurate as it showed 99.8 at our house and 101.3 at the doctor's office an hour later even after ibuprofen. Think I'll get an ear thermometer but not sure which one? Don't want to spend too much money either!
Thanks ladies, hope you're having a good Tuesday, we're doing a lot of cuddling on the couch today.
Re: Update and DS and need some recs
Sorry your LO isnt feeling good- Last time DS was sick with a bad sore throat I got those pedialite popsicles and at first he wanted nothing to do with them, but came around quickly and now asks for them regulary. They help with the sore throat and dehydration. Also agree with pp about trying pouches in the refrigerator. We use the vicks rectal thermometer and while its a little bit annyoing to have to take DS's diaper off to take his temp- its been very accurate and was only $10-15. Hoping LO gets better soon!

Started with RE in August 2010, dx with unexplained IF and then finally our 3rd IUI cycle using Follistim and Trigger resulted in our wonderful little man. Born 12/2/11
TTC#2 Never really prevented, but were careful early on as Dr. reccomended
Surprise BFP 12/16/13, started progesterone immediately as first numbers came back low, but betas were good. Progesterone wasnt enough. Natural MC 12/24/13.

Oh and I'm a major Harry Potter Nerd
I second taking a rectal temp with a basic thermometer. When E is teething I sometimes freeze fruit for her, maybe that will help soothe a sore throat too?
Poor DS, I hope he feels better soon for you!
