Sex after c-section

LO is 10 weeks old. Aside from the fact that I'm totally not in the mood, the few times that dh and i have had sex were very painful. We've done everything we can to make it easier and I think each times hurts a teeny bit less (but still hurts pretty bad). Even when I am in the mood I can't get excited bc I know it's just going to hurt. It's been 4 weeks since I got the ok. Is this normal? Is anyone else still having pain, have a remedy, or know if and when it will get better? Why am I in pain down there if I had a c-section?

    Lube is your friend, or at least it was my friend. It made my life so much better. If you are breastfeeding this can make you drier too.

    Does it hurt all the time or just during sex? Even though you didn't push a baby out of there, your body still goes through the same changes inside.

    I'm almost 11months pp.  I still have zero sex drive.  I don't find it enjoyable and it is still uncomfortable though not painful anymore.   I think part of it has to do with the mental aspect.  Since my mind isn't in the mood neither is my body.  I can't really say when it stopped hurting because we have sex as little as possible.

    It was definitely a few months before it was not so painful. It does get better but use lube, which will help a lot. My MD basically told me that is the hormones that make is so painful especially if you are BF. I have to say I thought that since I did not have a vaginal birth it would be business as usual but I was quickly surprised.

    The pain is only during sex and we try using lube but it still hurts....?

    Are you breastfeeding?

     

    I was shocked it hurt SO much. It felt dry and tight, even with lube. It took until my son was about 10 months old (so nursing a little less) before I felt normal down there.

    You aren't alone! I also had zero sex drive.

    Yup...lube was the biggest help.  I had soreness abdominally, but it was penetration that was most uncomfortable for the first couple of times.  We also didn't try for more like 12 weeks PP even though I was okayed at 6 weeks.  I just wasn't feeling it.  I think my hormones were still not heading in that direction until later.

    It hurts me too and I use a ton of lube.

    It seriously feels like when I started having sex for the first time. I don't understand why. I can't imagine how painful it must be for woman who have a vaginal birth. Yikes.

    As someone else mentioned, it feels like loosing your virginity again! I didn't expect it to hurt after a csection either but it sure does! It gets better each time though and now it doesn't hurt at all :) hopefully you get some relief soon!
