So, I am having issues with getting Liam circumcised. He was born 9lbs and 3oz, 2 weeks ago today and reached his birth weight last Thursday. We have Tricare but I did not deliver on military base now the military base doctors will not see him until I got the birth certificate and listed him as a dependent of my husband. He was seen by a civilian doc at a week check up but they wanted to charge us in full for circumcision even though our insurance covers it. So, on Friday I got him all listed with military docs and tried to make an appointment but they are not doing circumcisions and referring people to civilian doctors. Here is problem I am having I was told by 3 civilian pediatricians and a pediatric urologist that they will not do the procedure over 10 pounds for safety issues. I have appointment tomorrow to get referral but then I have to make appointment with the other doc for the procedure and it is not like most docs do same day appointments. Basically I am panicked we will not get him in before he is 10 pounds then they make me wait until he is over 6 months and put him under general anesthesia. But my first child (even though she is a girl) was born 10lbs 12oz what happens when baby is born very close or over 10 pounds? Has anyone had any issues with baby being to big for circumcision?
