December 2012 Moms

Moms with 2+

DS loves to give DD kisses, hugs, hold her, blow raspberries on her belly... But sometimes he licks her or sucks on her fingers. It's weird. I mean I'm glad he lives her, he even told me he lives her more than anyone else, but he does it out if jealousy sometimes too. I don't think he realizes it. Like we will be some place and someone will be talking to and admiring Milla, then he jumps in and starts smothering her in kisses and stuff. Anyone else have this? He's 6.5 years if your on mobile.

  • Hmm, My DD is 10 and is very possessive of Connor. If we are out and about and strangers stop to admire him she is rightthere hovering. She has also told people not to touch him, like people in line at the grocery store for example. I remind her that people love little babies and she is a great big sister but she doesn't need to "Mother" him if that makes any sense. I wouldn't worry too much, he is still getting used to the idea of being a big brother. They are both super cute btw.

  • Aw thanks. I think I remember being like that with my twin sisters, I was 5 when they were born.

  • That is sweet that he loves her so much. Him licking her fingers is a little different, but I would not call it abnormal by any means. When DD2 is getting attention from someone DD1 acts way over the top and practically sticks her face into DD2's face and says things like, ooooo baby, baby, baby. I always have to tell her to stop smothering her.

  • My biggest issues are when I'm disciplining DS then shoot a smile to DD to let her know its ok and I'm not yelling at her but then DS will say smile at me too mommy. Makes me feel bad.
