Thoughts on Hysteroscopy?

As you can tell I can't sleep. I am having thoughts about this hysteroscopy my OB has lined up for me. I have never gone to her during my whole ttc journey. I went straight to my RE. I don't know I guess I am kind of scared cause I really do not understand this test. Maybe you ladies can help me understand. What are your thoughts and should I be concerned in any way?

    Good for you for going straight to an RE and being proactive.  The test checks to see the shape of your uterus and also to see if your tubes are open.  This is a very standard fertility test and is very important.  You don't want to waste time on drugs in case there is a tubal issue.

    The test seems scary but it isn't bad.  It is over in about 10 minutes or less and mine felt like a pap smear.  Take advil before and after and bring a pad.  You will leak fluid for a couple of hours and I spotted a tiny bit.  I was back at work within an hour.  We did have to abstain from sex for a few days.  I got my results on the spot as my RE was doing my test.

    Me DX: Hashimotos,Hypothyroid, DOR, MTHFR,  DH: normal

     IUI #1-#4 BFNs and a few cancelled cycles in the mix.
    - poor responder
    ***Suprise BFP on 6/13/13. Natural MC @6wks 3days
    IVF#1 and 2- Cancelled due to no response on max stimms
    FET 5/20- BFP
    1st Beta- 641
    2nd beta- 2166
    Sono- TWINS!!!!
    Two Boys! Born January 2015 @36 weeks.  Healthy and no NICU!  So blessed!

    I did have an HSG done by RE and it was clear. Was wondering now why OB was doing this Hysteroscopy?

    Sunni did you ask your OB why you were getting this test? I would ask. Also I would let them know that you had one done with the RE. How long ago did you have the one with the RE? Maybe it has been so long that you need to have an new one.

    I hope the procedure goes well.

    I had one done at one clinic then switched clinics and had to repeat. It wasn't even a year but new clinic wanted new test.

    ME:46 MH:44 DE IVF 2014
    Met with RE 4/11. 2 IUI's BFN. DE best option. Switched clinics to do "shared" program. Had to retake all tests and a mamm that put me behind and then on a DE waiting list for 12 months. Picked a donor!! (10/13/13) Got matched. Estimated transfer in December. After 2.5 years of patiently waiting I will finally cycle....can hardly believe it. DE cycle got cancelled. One of her tests came back positive.  Waiting for another donor. Donor picked!! (1/18/14)

    DE IVF #1 (4/26) BFN  DE FET #1 (6/4) BFP! Beta 1=339 Beta 2=852 Beta 3=9957 EDD 2/22/15!!

    I had a hysteroscopy a few years ago when I had trouble getting pregnant after a D&C. I was out out for the procedure and a camera was able to show that I had scar tissue. The doctor performed a second D&C which removed the scar tissue. She told us to wait one full cycle to TTC again which we did. I got pregnant with my first sticky at that point. The procedure wasn't painful. I was in the hospital for the afternoon and sent home. I think the procedure took about 45 minutes total.

    Spoke with RE and she wondered why OB was ordering test also. Had HSG done in February. As for right now, I going to cancel since my RE did not schedule it. My OB should know by reading my charts, you would think. They both are on same network. Thanks ladies.
