We had the baby's dream generation next for DS. I'm on mobile so don't have a picture. But we loved it. I want one for this baby but they at about $600. DS is now a full size bed so I don't have it for this baby to use.

Looking online made me want to tear my hair out.. Looking in person scared the crap out of me. We bought our set a few weeks ago from BBB and used their 20% off coupons. I believe the set was a little over $1000 but it's convertible and in a perfect world will last, and we got it for around $800 after discounts.

We have this one for DD and I LOVE it. It's super solid, well constructed, doesn't look cheap and so far as held up to normal wear and tear wonderfully. Whenever someone walks into her nursery, we get lots of compliments on her crib.

We have this one for DD. We are transitioning her to her big girl bed in Oct and Fetus will go into the crib when s/he gets here. It's been a great crib, and it's a toddler bed right now. for DD I got a davinci Kalani 4 in 1 crib, that was about $350 from www.wayfair.com (when I got it they were csnbaby)

This time, since wayfair doesn't offer as much selection for shipping to Canada we are going for a bit more expensive with the Baby Cache Montana set in driftwood from toys r us. Looks amazing and is solid!

We spent $800 on DD's crib--it's the Larkin from PBK--but we absolutely love it. It was worth the extra money for us because it converts to a toddler bed and a full-size frame, so she would use it until she was ready to move out, basically. Now she's getting a new bed and #2 will be using that crib (again, until he/she is ready to move out). If you get floor models from the store, you can usually knock $100-200 off the price (we ended up getting DD's big-girl bed for 45% off because it was a floor model and we negotiated it down).

I have the same problem. I liked 2 cribs, one is convertible the other isn't. But after talking to my SIL, she has 2 small kids, she pointed something that I didn't realize. Our rooms are small. If we try to put a convertible crib later when it becomes a full it will be too big. She got the convertible for the first kid, but not for the second.
So, I think i will go with a not convertible... only convertible to toddler bed... and later use it for the next child and get this one a twin bed.

The ones I am looking at are around $400-$600 with a changing table... We are going to register for the one we are hoping to buy, and if we get it, AWESOME... If not, we will have to buy it. Our focus was durability and how long it will last- Most of the ones we were looking at convert all the way into a full sized bed

We got a Graco Crib too, but I think we got the Lauren? Anyways, it works great and the style is simple so I will be able to re-use it for LO #2.

This is what I wanted to do. I was ready to order one from Walmart that was $150 and came with a mattress, H was adamant about getting something else that we both loved.

MaryB I saw that one in target and really liked the whole nursery set, the only thing that turned me off about that one is that the reviews said standard sized crib mattresses don't fit in the crib so I decided against it.

A lot of the cribs I like are $700-800 and I don't want to spend over $500. The top contender for us right now is the Sorelle Vista Couture crib (you can find it easily on google). We're having a girl and will get the white. I also like that there is a matching armoire. We also really like the Pali Marina crib as well.

This is the crib that I found on sale at Target for $180. I also got the changing table which was also on sale for $80.

The crib was easy to put together (did it myself 6 months pregnant) and has held up really well. (Although DD has added some lovely teeth marks to some of the rails) The crib I think looks a lot more expensive it is. Here is a link and a pic

I bought a rather expensive one from BBB made by AP Industries. It was convertible: DS1 used it as a crib from 0-2 and as a toddler bed from 2-3. And then DS2 used it as a crib 0-1.5 and is now using it as a toddler bed until the baby gets here. Who will in turn use it as a crib and a toddler bed. Through all these transitions (plus two moves where we also had to take it apart and put it back together) it held up amazingly. I suspect that if we got a cheaper it may not have lasted through three kids as well - so that was my rationale when I was splurging (with a coupon!)

I'm buying a $99.99 crib from ikea! Personally I'd rather have a simple crib and spend more $ on the millions of other things that we'll need!

hehe! Sorry I tempted you! After seeing the price on that one I don't feel so bad about the price of mine. (and thankfully the inlaws said they would buy the crib I want!!!) That one is beautiful though!

Love this babyletto crib! We have the one thats white with espresso trim. My DD has it and it does convert really well. We'll use it as a crib for this LO and buy DD a new bed. I've been very pleased with the purchase.
