Need Reassurance.

When should I start to worry about lack of baby kicks/rolls? I was really busy yesterday and didn't feel her move much as I usually do. This morning I still haven't felt much, and I'm starting to worry...I'm also on vacation and not in my normal routine so that may affect her too? Just need some reassurance.

Re: Need Reassurance.

  • My LO goes through days of crazy moving and kicking and whatnot, then usually calms down for a few days.  If I have a major change in schedule, he usually changes, too.  I find if I'm having a more quiet, tired day, he does too.  As long as yours is moving, I'd say you're probably a-okay.  Take some time to just sit still and feel the movements.  If something feels really off, call your doctor.  You will know best. :)

  • I know my LO was all off when my schedule was changed. Baby is usually super predictable (just like Mommy!) but I think a combination of a change in my eating/sleeping habits and activity threw LO for a loop. Also, baby is 3lbs and growing, so I think the growth spurts may cause baby to be less active since baby needs rest to grow. If you are really concerned, talk to your OB about kick counts and what he/she recommends. Try drinking ice water and lying on your side to get baby to move. As your LO gets bigger, you won't feel as many rolls or flips since space is getting limited, so be on the lookout for quick jabs or kicks instead. Above all, try not to freak out and enjoy every movement you do feel!
