Infertility

Update & Vent

We are being monitored out of state and supposed to do our end of cycle monitoring and ER at CCRM, leaving tomorrow.

I had my suppression appointment on Thursday, started stims on Friday and went in for an US/BW today.  On Thursday I had 13 AFC...today they told me that they only saw 3 on my LO, nothing on my right. Thursday I had a AFC of 10 on my RO.  I'm so confused as to why.  I'm also upset because I had a new NP do the scan.  She didn't turn the screen to let me look and wouldn't tell me the results.  She said "that's for them to tell you" and I told her I'd like to know, so she asked if I was on meds, I told her yes.  Then she goes..."Oh, I thought this was your suppression scan."  Seriously, how about some tact? She was so rude to me and the fact that I didn't physically see the US makes me worried, it's just what she said and saw.

I'm just so worried about being canceled.  Not only am I worried for myself, but I'm worried for DH.  He broke down last night, so terrified of this not working. I've only seem him cry like that a few times...it was heartbreaking. It took everything I had to try and be the strong one in that moment as I'm usually the mess and he comforts me. I seriously hate the unknown of IF. Thanks for listening

  • Ugh, I am sorry that your appt was so stressful. Is someone calling you back soon to go over the ultrasound in more detail? Hopefully she just didn't see them or they can increase your dosage and recruit more.
I didn't have an ultrasound until after 5 days of stims as they just took blood after 3 days but I am wondering if it is just too early to see any measurable and you might have a better picture after a few days?
Fx that you don't get canceled. That is always my fear as well and so disappointing but I hope it's not the case!

    PAIF/SAIF Everyone welcome!
  • Hopefully it is just too early and there will be some growth after a few more days on stims.  Also - some people are better at seeing things on ultra sounds than others. Maybe because she was new - she wasn't an expert. Try not to stress out. But if they do call you later to go over the u/s results - you should tell them about your experience with this nurse practitioner and how she made you feel.

Good luck and keep us posted :)

  • Oh MJ, I'm so sorry you are having to go through all of this right before you should be heading out to your ER. I agree with pp about calling back and asking for more detail. It's your body and your right to know what's going on.

I also know exactly what you mean about having to comfort your DH when he's usually the one comforting you. It's such a horrible feeling to see them so low. I am thinking of you both and have everything crossed that you don't get cancelled. Please keep us posted. <3

  • MJ sounds to me like you are doing ok for such early us in the stim process. I never had scanning earlier than day 6. Does CC.RM review the us done locally? I hope they make you feel better with more explanation. I feel for you, and I understand the weight of having to help someone through a heavy cry like that. I'm keeping my FX, and I really hope this works perfectly from here...you have a lot on the line here...with IVF, it's just so scary and so BIG. I hope you get a good update later today.

  • Thanks ladies.  This is a different protocol...No Lupron this time around.  I'm anxiously waiting to hear from CCRM after they view the results to see where we go from here.
