Just thought I'd share this status I saw posted on a friend's Facebook page and see what/if you would respond. I just ignored, but I'm curious if you ladies have something snippy to add! After many posts by other's, he basically said they're all idiots for not seeing the sarcasm. Something I've learned over the years is that it is extremely difficult to catch sarcasm electronically.

Original Comment:

Why are all these girls gettin fat when they have a baby? Whats that about?

And Follow-up comment by same person:

I've carried many babies, I have a god son. Even helped raise some... kinda (Mom owned a Day Care)

I mean cmon though! There are plenty of moms who eat veggies while they are pregnant like their doctors say they should but i think most give in to the chocolate and hey, thats cool! I like chocolate too.

but why do their bellies have to get so big?

This person sounds like a moron, I would number one not respond and number two block/de-friend them. Also, do they know what sarcasm is? Especially with the other posts, I don't think that word means what they think it mean...

Just....wow.

What an idiot. Is this person a friend of yours?...because I would have a REALLY difficult time seeing that on my news feed every day and NOT calling someone stupid.

Bellies get big because we're freaking carrying around watermelon-sized (depending on gestation age) people INSIDE OF THEM. They kind of HAVE to get big. wtf?

He's 31. He was a chubby guy most of his life until he got into MMA (moved to Thailand to learn more, that's where he currently is). He's kind of a weirdo anyway.

What an asshole. Like a PP said, making a comment probably wouldn't even be worth it since he seems like someone who is set in his ways. It's guys like him who I wish could be pregnant for just a week to see what it's like.

He's a dude...but he's "carried" babies?

How does carrying a baby in your arms even remotely compare to carrying one INSIDE OF YOU? This guy sounds...ugh. If he's held a child, then he should KNOW why "stomachs get big". There's nowhere else for things to go. And apparently he missed the memo about how women are SUPPOSED to gain weight while pregnant.

I hope for the sake of other women that he doesn't knock someone up. I can totally see him telling her how fat and unattractive she is. Not cool.

The first part (bolded) I can see as being sarcastic or funny in a teasing way. However, the rest of it just cancels any sort of funny out of it.

I thought it was funny. Other than the chocolate part, I don't see the humor in that one. I have a FB friend that writes crazy stuff all the time. I think it's funny, some people get all upset and he'll delete them or vice versa. I'm sure there were some crazy comments on that one!

To the bolded, I know a few male coworkers have joked that I've "let my self go" but I find zero humor in it. Was his post meant to be funny?
