Shower Sex + GTKY

Shower sex for DH and me is very difficult. I always get nauseous and lightheaded. Any shower sexperts out there with some tips?

GTKY: Where is your favorite non-bed place to have sex and why?

Mine would be the floor. It makes me think of when we were dating and DH had a roommate and a squeaky bed and we're trying not to get caught.

Shower sex is lots of fun, but I don't have any specific pointers. I know having a big enough shower helps a lot, though sometimes we just turn it into "bathtub sex". Just curious, why do you get nauseous and lightheaded from shower sex?

My favorite non-bed location is outside. I absolutely love putting a blanket down on the beach or the grass and having at it.

I have no idea why I get that way. I thought that I might just be getting too hot and turned the water temp down, but it didn't help.
I've never had sex outside..that's something I really want to check off the list.

I like to have sex in the pool. I have had menier's disease for about 20 years and my vestibular doesn't work right anymore so bending over, fast moving things, or closing my eyes makes me dizzy. When I have to wash my hair in the shower alone I have to hold on so I don't fall so there is no way in hell I'm going to try to have sex in there. I use to like it just can't anymore. Sucks because I have a huge stand up shower plenty big enough two.

We have tried shower sex a handful of times and just can't seem to get it right. I feel like the water just dries me up (if that makes any sense). Plus we have a small shower and we are both pretty tall people, I never know where to put my lanky legs.

My favorite non bed sex would probably be the floor or the couch

But I really think my bed is the best spot...definitely the most comfy

I'm boring, sorry.

I don't like shower sex, I don't like pool sex, I don't like car sex. I have no desire to do it outside, or anywhere where we might get caught. I don't find that thrilling. I would be too worried about someone catching us to get off. That makes it not fun for me.

I don't have a favorite non-bed place for sex, because my favorite place IS the bed. I love the bed. It's comfy and it has pillows and blankets and it's perfect. We can just go to sleep afterwards if we feel like it. I can manage couch sex if necessary, but I really prefer the bed.

I love shower sex! It's usually a quickly and fast clean up! We do it 'doggy style' but both of us standing. It's not comfortable when I'm facing DH. We take the lube in with us. The water does create too much friction and makes everything not as slippery. Those are my pointers

We are out door sexperts if you will. It's very freeing. As for the shower usually use my thighs as support and bend over alittle. I think when people get light head they tell you to breath and put you head between your knees... So your half way there all ready. I second the lube. Water does not do the trick.

We do shower sex often, doggy position standing up but I do get lightheaded quickly cause its usually real hot in there. Our favorite place besides the bed would have to be the couch, I actually bend over the side and we get a really good angle that way. We used to have sex in his back seat when he was still in college cause we had nowhere else to, and that had to have been some of the hottest sex we've ever had, both for the risky factor of getting caught and the angle.

Get lube samplers in little packets you can bring with you outside. I love the thrill but its not always comfy and you have to do an unsexy tick check afterwards.

For shower sex we can only do it back to because of our heights and positioning issues. I don't really like it. Use a silicone type lube so it won't wash away as quick.
I like to masterbate in the shower...

I want to have sex in the lake hiding under the dock or float one of these days.... But my favorite place is the bed

For us now, we have a house so our backyard is great Fun. But in our younger year we would scoop out places near our apartment and then go there at night. Like a big cluster of trees or we have walking trials that's like a 10 min walk away. It's kinda great on the way there bc it's all fore play. It's fun. We also have done it on the beach really early in the morning. I actually don't know how we pulled that off lol!

S/O hates shower sex and we've never tried it. It's cool, though. He's tall and I'm a shrimp so he'd freeze and I'd get sprayed in the face the whole time.

My fav spot other than the bed is the couch. Actually I think I prefer the couch...

I'm with you @Amyc925, I get the same way in the shower as you do. We haven't been able to make it work either. Even if I didn't start feeling nauseous I don't think we could do it. And how the heck do you ladies have bath sex?

Honestly we don't really have sex in any other places other than the bed. When we were dating we used to do it on DH's couch or in the car (which I HATED every second of!).

I have a friend who bought "shower steps" to help make shower sex better. They just attach to the wall of your shower so you can hold on and put a leg up and stuff.

Not sure how sturdy or helpful they were for her, but it might help?

Also, unless shower sex is something you both really like, there is no shame in passing on it. It's not that big of a deal. We pretty much only do shower sex during my period so I don't have to worry about staining anything.

This exactly. I just love my bed. I also like to be extremely loud so if we're somewhere I'd have to be quiet it's just not worth it because I'm too focused on being quiet to enjoy myself. When DH and I first got together when we were summer camp counselors we had fun seeing how many different places we could HIO. We topped our list with the camp director's desk but I've had sex way too many times on the floor of the camp's sports equipment hut that as an adult I'm all for the comforts of my own bed.

Not a fan of shower sex. It gets too cramped in there for us. Although, it is nice to just clean up easily after since you're in there. Before DS, our other non-bed go-to place was the couch. Now we can't bring ourselves to do it since he sits on there. When we were young and had just started dating, his car was our "fun" spot. Now that we're old farts, we enjoy the bed just fine. Haha

I love shower sex but we have only done it standing doggie.. Not facing each other or anything. i would be afraid of falling if we did it any other way! It's definitely the easiest clean up!

we don't have the water pouring directly on me so I don't have problems w/ lubrication or anything. Favorite non-bed is actually the shower so I'm no help there!

Your question made me realize how much I like the good ol' bed (like @von1976 and @LaDyBostonRN and @EmilyA724), with position variations. Who am I kidding, we don't even vary positions that much. It's 95% cowgirl -- that's easiest orgasms for me -- and we are an ED couple.

I really need to get more adventurous for TTC and relationship reasons. I see some nice tips above! Outdoor sex, here we come!

I'm not a fan of shower sex, it's a great place to start things but it is too awkward with our height difference :-)

My favorite place is this secluded beach we go to when we travel back to Puerto Rico (where hubby is from). It's always completely empty and the water there is calm and pretty much surrounded by trees :-)

We do the shower thing a lot. Partially because I like being able to clean off after haha. We have a shelf type thing in the shower so I usually hold myself up while DH holds my legs up. Definitely isn't as great for me in there but works for him and is a nice little morning or evening quickie. It took us a while to figure it out! I haven't slipped yet so that's just a matter of time, haha.

We really enjoy the shower for foreplay! Sex in there is difficult and requires too much thinking and balancing! My favourite besides the bed is me sitting on a counter/table and DH standing.

DH and I have shower sex about once a month or so, it can get awkward but I enjoy it. I am 5'4", DH is 6'5" so the height difference makes us have to get creative. We have two positions we rotate, standing up doggie style, or the other one I am facing him with one foot on the ledge, the other foot perched up on one of the shelves. I like this one best for in the shower because it puts me at the same level as DH

As for my favorite place besides the bed, that would be either the couch or me sitting on the kitchen counter with DH standing.

I am not a fan of shower sex. Our shower stall is too small and if we do it in the guest bath/shower combo then water gets everywhere and honestly it's not worth mopping up the floor.

I like the stairs. DH likes his weight bench.
