being judged?!?

Just found out that I am being judged for going out.. to a friends house for a couple if beers.. for my birthday at the end of may and going out.. to the club for my friends birthday fourth of july weekend.. now I didn't post these pictures on facebook but i was tagged in them.. I made sure my daughter was taken care of and down to sleep before we left.. I haven't been back out and have no plans to do so.. just wondering if anyone else is being judged about this or something else.. also my husband didnt drink both times so we had her taken care of all the way around.. and please don't post if u are judging me.. oh and the best part the person judging me was my best friend of 13 years!

I am being judged all the time. Let them, the people judging are the ones who are insecure about their own situation.

You really have to learn to ignore people. As a mom, someone is always judging something you do, and most of the time their opinion doesn't matter.

Dude I brought my baby to the bar, whatev! I'm assuming your friend is not a parent, correct? I wouldn't get too worked up about it, sounds like your friend Judgy McJudgster has no idea what she is talking about.

Then she is probably just jealous that you are able to get out like that and she can't. So long as baby is well taken care of, there is no reason why you can't also enjoy yourself every now and then.

I went out with my husband for a couple weddings and to celebrate our 1 yr anniversary when DS was 6 weeks old. As long as your baby is getting well taken care of, what is it anyone else's business? It's good for you to have a life that is more than just your children. Outside relationships along with the ones of our family are what makes a person a well-rounded individual. Also, it's the most amazing feeling to see them after you miss them for several hours!

Well, that person is not a friend if she is judging you. Just because you've had a baby does not mean that you don't deserve a little time for yourself, to let loose and have a good time. Life has changed drastically but that doesn't mean that you can't ever go out and enjoy yourself. A happy Mom is one who is well rounded. Your baby is happy, healthy and was taken care of by people whom you trust, you owe no explanation or justification for your actions. I wouldn't even entertain the silliness with the person who decided to judge you.

Sigh. Stories like this make me glad I'm an "older mom." I say, fuck 'em who cares what people think. You've done nothing wrong. The world doesn't stop spinning because you had a baby. That's why God invented babysitters, taxis, and baby monitors. Have a few.

Who cares? I'm pretty sure you've judged her in the past for something or probably will in the future. We all judge - it doesn't mean she is not a good friend. I left DD with my parents overnight when she was 6 weeks so DH and I could go out for a nice dinner for my birthday. Keep it moving...
