Good book suggestions?

In my attempt to be as prepared as possible for all the sleepless nights that lie ahead I want to stock up on my book collection. Any suggestions? I love reading and don't prefer anything style over the another...

  • I just finished Inferno by Dan Brown and I loved it!

  • If you like Dan Brown, check out James Rollins. IMO, he is BETTER than Dan Brown and has a ton more books. A few are stand alone books but the majority are written around a few central characters.

  • Anything by Sophie Kinsella. She is chick lit and her books always crack me up.

I also really liked My Name is Memory by Ann Brashares.
  • Kite Runner is such an eye-opening, well written book.

  • Jennifer Fallon, Wolfblade Trilogy. I just finished reading it and its pretty good.
Now I am reading Terry Brooke's Armagedo's Children, author of the Shanara series.
Lastly my next series is the Death Gate Cycle (7 books) by Margette Weist and Tracy Hickman

  • I loved reading all Jodi Picoult's books while nursing. Pretty quick, easy reads but interesting controversial subjects. There are a couple of her books that I didn't dig, but love the majority.
  • If you liked the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo books, I recommend anything by Jo Nesbo- I've been reading his most recent one while on vacay and it's awesome, just good solid mystery/ thriller stuff. Just finished The Night Circus, it was pretty good, sort of a Harry Potter/ Neil Gaiman hybrid. If you prefer less "fluff", more modern fiction, I'd say anything by Michael Chabon, Jhumpa Lahiri, David Gates, Jonathan Franzen, Meg Wolitzer, or Jeffrey Eugenides.
  • Wow! Thank you all so much for the suggestions!!

  • I like anything by Jennifer Weiner. Most of her books are trendy chick books about new moms! Easy reads.

  • I like John Irving a lot and just finished his latest, In One Person. It was a really good, provocative book. Looking for Alaska is what I am reading next and it has come highly recommended. It's young adult fiction. I've been on a young adult book kick recently, it's fun!
  • I love books but cannot always remember the names of the ones I loved most because I go through so many.  Recently read an autobiography called The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls which was fantastic.  For some crazy thriller suspense, Chevy Stevens has 2 books out that I couldn't put down Missing and I can't remember the other's name.

  • The All Souls Trilogy, 2 of the 3 books are out, are amazing. Hunger games, if you haven't already read it is worth the read.

If you are into food, Anthony Bourdain's books are good for a light read as well.
