Food Allergy

XP: Milk Allergy Moms

Not sure if this is what we have going on here but looking for some insight. For the past 3-4 weeks my baby has been dealing with vomiting. It will go on once or twice for 3 days or so and then be ok for a few days, then it will start up again. We have been repeating this cycle for 3-4 weeks. Of course we first thought this was just a stomach bug but this has been going on too long for me to think she is continuing to catch a virus. I tried taking her to the ER on Friday only to get no advice or help whatsoever so I'm taking matters into my own hands. It seems she only ever throws up formula, never food or pedialyte if I've given it to her. And it's not at ever feeding and the vomiting doesn't always occur right away. She will als break out in a rash when this starts and run a low grade fever sometimes, otherwise she will just sweat profusely with no fever. I thought maybe this might be a milk allergy so yesterday I started giving her soy formula. She seems to be doing well and hasn't vomited since I started her on this. I know this isn't the diagnosis after a day, and I do plan to follow up with the pedi AGAIN tomorrow but I wasn't sure if a milk allergy can show up at this age. She's been on the same formula since 5 weeks old and we've never had a problem. I always thought these types of allergies showed up early. If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it :)

I would think that the milk allergy wouldve shown up before now if shes been on the same formula since five weeks. My LO started at four weeks with a rash, mucous stool

It is possible that changes were made to the formula "recipe" and now contains ingredients it didn't before. A call to the manufacturer may help.
