Dr. SAIF - what would you do?

I figure next best thing to asking Dr Google is asking Dr SAIF! :-)

LO still has her congestion and an off and on fever (99.9). We have the best pediatrician ever who lets you text her with questions so she said to just keep giving her Tylenol to battle the fever. And Friday they tested her for strep and it was negative.

So now DH and I have it too. Last night my fever got up to 102. Yesterday was really runny noses and just feeling like crap. Today is cough, runny nose, and again feeling like crap.

Should I go to dr? We're taking vitamin c and Tylenol for fever. I just don't know if it's a cold with that high of a fever? WWYD??
MF (low motility) - Began stims for IVF#1 7/21/12
ER 8/2/12 - 14 eggs retrieved, 12 mature and ICSI'd, 6 fertilized. ET 8/7 - 2 embies. Beta#1 8/17: 143! Beta#2 8/20: 590! Beta#3 8/22: 1,162! 1st US 9/4: one beautiful little bean with the best sounding HB I've ever heard!

    I wouldn't go to the doctor unless I started having multi-colored phlegm or mucous, or if my fever was higher than 102, even with Tylenol.  You can also alternate with ibuprofen for the fever and pain.  I would also take an antihistamine or decongestant to get rid of the congestion.

    Thanks dr! So are antihistamines and decongestants ok to take while BFing? Or do I need to pump and dump? Or will they cause my milk to dry up? Sorry for all the questions. I remember reading where some cold meds could cause milk to dry up. THANK YOU!!

    Decongestants will dry you up. I'd stick with Tylenol and ibuprofen. You can take Claritin or Benadryl for runny/stuffy nose. And I think mucinex but not mucinex d. Avoid Sudafed and any multi symptom meds like NyQuil. Feel better!
