ovulation

I know next to nothing about my reproductive system other than the ins and outs of pregnancy. Both my pregnancies were unplanned, so I have never charted or even been aware of my ovulation taking place. Since having my children, though, I've been more in tune with my body.

So I had my last period from July 7th to (I think) the 11th (FWIW, my last period was progesterone-induced). For three days I've been feeling mild cramps and just today I've had tremendous pressure in my pelvis. It almost feels like Braxton-Hicks. Anyway I'm staying away from Google and asking moms with experience if this is what ovulation feels like and if the timeframe is right.

I personally have never felt myself ovulate.  But people have told me that for them, it feels like a twinge or cramps or whatever so I assume it can be different for everyone.  You can ovulate at really pretty much any time, although a couple of weeks after your period starts is the standard 'assumed' time frame.

I'd suggest reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility.  Even if you don't plan on charting and temping, it's a easy read with good information about your body and signs of ovulation.
Thanks! I'll check it out now. :)
