I'm Chapped

Prior to purchasing our home, we were told by our realtor that home warranties are a huge, painful joke.

She was right.

Our dryer isn't drying so I had to make a call. They were condescending to me, demanded payment up front, and then never returned my call. So, I called them back today and cancelled my appointment. They were rude to me. Again.

The nerve!

I should've been born 100 years ago. I miss customer service. When I worked retail, I always tried to be kind and helpful. Grrr!

  • Ugh, that really sucks!!

We always decline purchasing warranties for household appliances.  They always seem to be more trouble than they are worth!

  • I feel for you. It just seems harder and harder to get decent customer service nowadays.

The home warranty was paid for by the seller when we purchased. I always decline "protection plans" too!

  • I guess I'm alone in this, but I've had three houses now and used the home warranty each time. We're calling about our roof tomorrow. I found it hassle free in the past and helpful.

Could just be that the woman I spoke to was a meany. A friend is coming by today to look at the dryer. If I need to call them back, hopefully I will get someone different.

I hope you do!! We've always used the home warranty and it paid for itself over again. Good luck!!
