The alarm goes off in am hour for us to go to Maine for the rest of the weekend and LO has been up ALL night.
Shoot me. Literally when I got into bed at 1115, the crying began. Not meltdowns persay - just whining and flailing around every.single.time I put her in her crib.
She just wants to be held. Sweet? Yes. Condusive for sleeping? F.no.

Why am I so mad? I've posted several times about this trip. Its with my family for my moms 65th. I graciously opted out and told them it was too much with LO. They didn't respect it and gave me a massive guilt trip. And now look. I get to pack the house into the car and make a 3.5 hour trip following a night that was as bad as the first night home from the hospital. Awesome,

And I don't even have DH on my side - bc he does nothing but give me a hard time when I b. about a hard night. He thinks I'm dramatic and it pisses me off to no end that he cant just be sympathetic. He'll probably try and tell me he didn't sleep either, but his heavy breathing - near snoring tells me otherwise. Or he'll spend the whole day correcting me that it wasn't a bad night.

Rant over. If anyone needs me ill be busy banging my head against the wall.

Ugh I'm sorry lady! Any chance LO will sleep in the car and DH can drive so you can rest?

Yes, definitely. It just sucks because a couple hours sitting up in the car just isn't even close to a decent night sleep. Plus I'm preparing for another rough night tonight since we're in a hotel and she's not used to her surroundings. This just sucks. I'm so angry bc I particularly true to avoid being in this position.

There's very little worse than not getting enough sleep. After my husband working third shift and not being at home at all nights with our first two, I told him these last two were his responsibility!

Hope you still find a way to at least have some fun on your trip.

I'm so sorry, JB. The no sleep nights are horrible. I would be tempted to leave and go home today. A night in a hotel sounds like hell.

Ugg - How awful! Those nights are the worst and to have to pack up and leave in the morning sucks. The fact that you probably have to put on a happy face or get scolded for being in a bad mood sucks even more. Seriously though, if it was me dh would have been up taking shifts to hold LO so I could get a break. I hope you got to rest in the car!

Me too! If YH doesn't think the nights are that bad then let him handle a few. Particularly the one tonight! Haha. That ought to teach him some sympathy.

Thanks ladies!! We survived, Although barely. The car was awful. LO slept for the beginning - then woke up and screamed and screamed and screamed some more. And we were stuck in traffic. It was heartbeaking. Honestly the hardest moment as a parent thus far. (I realize that may sound a smidge dramatic, but she's us really chill baby!)

She did however sleep straight through from 930-630. Guess all the crying wore her out.

Wish I could say the same for me - DH and I had an argument last night before bed - I barely slept at all. Ugh.

We decided to leave bright and early this am to hopefully avoid traffic. An hour into the ride so far - hope we can make it home with minimal issues.
