Rolling Over

Are any of your babies rolling over? Mine does from front to back, and has only done back to front at daycare and not at home yet!

Mine sort of did a back to front roll this morning. His arm got in the way though so it wasn't a full roll over. I tried laying him on a flatter surface (we were on the couch and I put him on the floor) but he didn't try again.

  • Nope.  He gets to his side and then just hangs out there, like he doesn't know what to do next.  However, the current diaper rash situation is resulting in a lot more tummy time (it hurts for him to lay on his back/ butt), which I am hopeful will result in him rolling from front to back pretty soon!

  • Last night for the first time...mostly!  He got his bottom half all the way turned but couldn't quite figure out how to get over his arm.

  • Not yet completely. She tries really hard to go from back to tummy and gets mad that she can't. She hasn't figured out on her own yet what to do with the arm underneath.

  • Not yet but I feel like she's days away! She gets so close!

  • My LO has been rolling for a couple of weeks now and she's a rolling machine. Now that she's figured out how to roll back to front, I cannot stop her from sleeping on her stomach. A little weird becuase prior to that she hated doing tummy time and now she loves it.

  • When DS is laying on his back he will roll onto his sides but won't roll over all the way yet.

  • We're in the same boat as a lot of others: M will go onto his side and then the down arm prevents him from moving all the way forward.
His new thing is lifting his legs and tucking his chin and arms to try to sit straight up.  The rolling from side to side has lessened since he's started doing this.

  • Mila rolls stomach to back but not back to stomach yet. Ava didn't roll over front to back until she was like five months I think.

  • LO does back to front all the time. But this morning she did front to back. I'm looking forward to when she puts it together.

  • My LO will roll both ways when I put him on his blanket. He loves to try and roll off the blanket every time I put him down.
  • My DD has been rolling front to back for a while now but just starting to try rolling back to frot. Like pp said she gets stuck and can't figure out what to do with her hands. I have noticed though the last week or so I put her down on her playmat to go to the bathroom and come back and she's scooted off! I'm like wait where are you going?! Lol
  • He does tummy to back, and is REALLY close to getting from back to tummy but not quite there yet.

  • I'm not sure she's even trying. Lol
I'm with you.  Greyson will roll onto his side occasionally but he's not really trying much.
Having said that... DH keeps telling me I have to lay him down sometimes so he'll have time to try instead  of holding him all the time.  LOL
  • Connor loves being a penguin. I put him down for tummy time and all four limbs are up in the air like he is in some sort of wind tunnel.

  • B has been inconsistently rolling from tummy to back since about 3 weeks old - getting better at it each day. About 2 weeks ago she figured out back to tummy and LOVES it - she hardly ever lays on her back now, except to sleep.

Same here and that's an awesome way to describe it! Lol
  • Will has been rolling from tummy to back for quite some time but has just started doing it more consistently. I am waiting for him to roll from his back to tummy. He gets to his side and then stops... Any day now I'm sure.
