October 2012 Moms

DC Moms

Hello everyone,

I am a November 2012 Bumpie but I'm here because my LO will be your baby's age when she starts daycare.  I'm not sure how her eating habits will be by then so I figured let me ask you mommies.  It will be the first time I return to work so for that reason I'm wondering what my morning is going to look like. I'm thinking the night before I will shower, pick out my clothes, make my lunch, and prep M's bottles and food. I know she'll be having 2 bottles as well as lunch and I suppose a snack at daycare.  Right now she isn't hungry enough for breakfast, so it's a bottle of formula at 7 am, then another one around 10:30, 11, then lunch at 12 which is still stage one Gerber foods...so easy.  DH has to have her out of the house by 7:30 am in order for him to get to work on time. So, my questions are:

1.  What kind of food do your LO's eat for breakfast, lunch, and a snack if that's happening? (What do you send food wise to daycare?)
2.  If they have to be taking off by 7:30 am, do you think 6:45 is early enough to wake her?

I'm a little nervous about the whole thing...although I am happy that she will be around other children all day.  Side note: My therapist thinks daycare is a great way for children to get used to different people and be socialized, being that he has a lot of clients who don't even know how to talk on the phone because for years they've been texting, working from home, etc. Nuts huh?! THANK YOU.

I give my LO cut up fruits for breakfast and nurse him before I send him off to DC.  I usually give half a jar of purees mixed with yogurt or tofu, little bag of cheerios, shredded meat (chicken, pork, etc), and steamed carrots.  He also has teething cookies there too.
It seems like they only feed him once but he will eat at least 3/4 of what I give them.  My mom will usually pick him up by 3-4pm though, so she will take over from there.

    2.  If they have to be taking off by 7:30 am, do you think 6:45 is early enough to wake her?  My LO is an early riser so he is usually awake anyway by 5:30-6am.  I usually have to leave by 7-7:15am.  But if he does happen to sleep in, I usually get him up 30min prior since I do feed him breakfast and that can take FOREVER with him (he is a messy eater!)

I'm a little nervous about the whole thing...although I am happy that she will be around other children all day. I was a mess when I first dropped LO off when he was 10weeks old.  But he does great and it is really fun watching him interact with other kids at this age!
