any recommendations for what to wear post c-section? i didn't have one with #1..and so i wasn't sure if pants would bother me (or if nightgowns would be more comfortable).
I wore hospital gowns for the duration of my stay. At home, I felt good in yoga pants - they were supportive without being too tight. Also, GRANNY PANTIES.
Ditto high waisted granny pannies. And nothing that sits on the incision. (which is right at my panty line). I actually went pantless in hospital and just stayed covered. When I got up to walk around I put on lose fit pj pants. Once home I had to wear really loose pants and keep them up high on my waist. Hope this helps!!

I used the mesh panties the hospital provided - less wash and you could throw them out - lots and lots of comfy nursing bras, tanks/tees and yes, yoga pants were my best friend too - though while in the hospital, I liked very large pj pants that you could tie around your hips. Don't forget socks and some flip flops/sandals too!!

I had to wear night gowns and dresses the first two weeks. Not only was my incision too sore (mine is very low, so no pants are low enough) but on top of that I was extremely sore from right below my belly button to my incision. My Dr said is was from her messing with my muscles. I did not have that pain with my first two csections though. Even at one month, it's still sore and very tender but I can now at least handle yoga pants.

I bought a pair of mesh athletic shorts at Target in two sizes larger than my regular, non-pregnant size, and they have been awesome. I can pull them up high grandpa-style or let them ride really low on my hips, depending on what's comfortable right then. I'm also rocking a pair of my husband's old drawstring Umbros much of the time.
I am in dresses and nightgowns 24/7. Even maternity pants bother me. I am 3 weeks PP. I wish I had known about panties, bikini panties are right on the incision. Go buy some granny panties! You won't regret it!

I'm 10 days PP and have been living in maxi dresses, nightgowns, and my hubby's oversize t-shirts. I'm still too sensitive to wear any kind of pants at this point. Ditto on the granny panties and especially the disposable hospital ones. Grab all that you can before you're discharged!

Yoga pants, high waisted hanes undies and nursing camis are what I lived in for 3-4 weeks post c-sections (twice now and will for this 3rd time too) and flip flops or slip on slippers make life easier too!
Better than granny panties were maternity briefs. Not the bikinis. They are loose on your tummy so they won't rub or push. Also, I just live in dresses or the occasion soft pair of maternity pants that don't have a strong waist but a full panel. 5 weeks later I still take off anything with a waist band the minute I get home. Sore belly!
