Feeling guilty

I feel really guilty then I don't see my son all day long then when I come home I put him in his swing because I have so much to do around the house.. Between cleaning.. Getting stuff ready around the house for the next day, making dinner picking everything up and trying to stay as organized as possible I feel like I never have any one on one time since he goes to bed at 8. I feel like he's always in his swing bored and I feel like he's going to miss out on development since I don't get a ton of time to play with him.. Is this normal to feel this way? Does anyone else feel the same way

Re: Feeling guilty

  • I feel guilty about working and not spending enough time at home with my son also. I try to take short cuts wherever possible or let the house stuff wait at least until he goes to bed. Have you tried wearing him in a carrier? Then he is close to you and you can talk to him.

  • I 2nd the baby carrier comment.  or if i'm cooking dinner i put him in a bouncer seat so he watches me while i'm cooking and i can talk to him and tell him what i'm doing.

This is exactly what we do as well. Jake loves his bouncy chair, and having at least one of us nearby at least gives us a chance at interaction so he doesn't feel so lonely.

  • I feel guilty right now too. And it's only going to get worse since I'm entering a really busy time at work so I'll have some late nights and won't see DD at all. I try to devote one full weekend day to spending with her. It makes me feel a little better.
