6 Weeks, 5 Days - What Smells are bothering you?

From the moment that I became suspicious about being pregnant, my sense of smell became like a bloodhound. I could smell things a mile away. You never really know who dull your sense of smell is until you become pregnant.

When I was pregnant with my 8 year old daughter, I could never even drive by Zaxbys restaurant due to the smell.

This pregnancy, there have been a few smells to make me sick to my stomach, but nothing that has stood out. I can feel the sickness growing though. I have sat down a couple of times at dinner and thought I was going to lose it before eating a bite.

Dh made hamburger yesterday and I couldn't stand the smell. Trash can smell grosses me out. Pretty much anything with a strong scent.

i can smell body odor really strongly!! DH had a shower in the morning and he generally does not smell bad at all, but i have been getting this strong "male" smell in my nose all the time and he keeps laughing at me coz i want him to shower twice or three times a day!!

I mopped with the Swiffer Jet yesterday and immediately went out to buy a Shark Steamer. It just smelled like chemical over load! Not good!!!

My 3rd pregnancy and into this one I can not stand the smell of Ketchup. It makes me want to puke....and of course my kids love it on e erything!

It seems like certain cooked meats bother me the most, DH cooked a turkey patty once then salmon yesterday. I burned a candle in the house to get rid of the smell. Also had to get a car air refreshner when he took co-works to a philly steak sandwich place!!!

SIDE NOTE: any ideas for protein when eating meat doesn't sound the best?

Ice Cream, eggs, bacon, and hotdogs.....which is odd, because I am craving Hot Dogs, just hate the smell. lol

just about all smells bother me! i can smell things so much stronger than usual, it's overwhelming. my dog and cat food, pretty much anything i cook, body sprays, you name it. i even have to wash my hands and face after eating because i can still smell the food i just ate and it makes me want to vomit. i'm 10 weeks+3 days and desperately hoping this lets up soon. best of luck to you!

I work at a restaurant and I opened a package of salami the other day. Immediately ran to the bathroom. It was the most horrendous smell, ever. Of course it never smelled THAT terrible before pregnancy.

As weird as it may sound...MEAT. Chicken...burger...steak...anything. Every time I try to eat it I queasy and throw half of it away.

I have always had a very sensitive 'sniffer', but never to anything like that....only to bad smells.

Me too, jszy10 - looking at, smelling, being near meat makes me want to vomit. I haven't been able to eat any meat at all in almost a week. Blehhh.

Try eating peanut butter and crackers. Peanut butter is an excellent source of protein. My son eats two peanut butter sandwiches after every work out just for the protein.

I had to switch my own deodorant because the smell was too strong. I couldn't find unscented but luckily found something mild enough that I can tolerate it. But yeah, pretty much any strong smell makes me woozy

Today as I was about to walk into a store I could smell the newly mopped pine sol floor smell and thought I was dreaming (I was OUTSIDE!!) and sure enough I gagged a bit when I walked in. Gross!!!

I'm also noticing that I'm more and more sensitive to smells... For now the smells just gross me out and may make me a bit nauseous...in the coming weeks they will make me vomit. I'm a bank teller and today someone was at my counter that smelled like she was stinky to begin with but then she had just pooped her pants and tried to cover it up with old-lady perfume. She counted her money out in front of me forever and I kept finding reasoning to step away. UGH!

Pretty much all smells bother me. Even things that are supposed to smell good, like deodorant, dish soap, hand soap, laundry detergent. Everything just smells so overpowering and strong. I've switched to unscented things where I was able to, but of course that doesn't help with the bad smells like dog food and my son's poopey diapers. I'm having a much harder time with this pregnancy than my last.

ohhh lemme see... as of now... garlic, cleaning liquids, detergent, hot food smells ( i can only eat cold food) my husband when he heats up Hot Pockets. EWWWWW

Booze. I was out with some friends who were drinking the other night, pretending my sprite was a G&T, and they started doing Sambuca shots. I almost died. I felt like puking for the rest of the night. And apparently I wasn't fooling anyone with the sprite :-(
